help installing water temp gauge

yeah so i know it's not that hard but mine is not going up in temperature. I tapped in the stock temperature wire (smaller plug) on my SR blacktop. Power is good, but not reading temp! any help would be appreciated! b.t.w my gauge is a glowshift digital series

what brand of gauge... most gauges bring they'r own sensor and may not work with stock.

Many aftermarket gauges come with their own sensors, so they original one might not work with the gauge. You will most likely have to install the sensor somewhere into the motor and wire it to the new gauge.

Pull out the stock sensor, drill and tap the stock location to fit the new sensor. Plug it into the gauge and watch it work.

I wouldn't recommend that, Why remove the stock unit? Many cars use the temperature to adjust timing and fuel maps. Without a Temp reading, it may not run properly, I would do some homework before I did that...

it has two temp sensors one for gauge (single wire) and cts sensor for comp 2wires homework finished. I like two gauges rather then one not working then you know whats realy happening. Its too easy to just drill a hole on the upper water neck and tap it its a joke!! 20 min max

thanks for all the feedback guys. yeah Im gonna stick with drilling the hole and tapping it in.

Chris w/ RS enthalpy told me to tap my water temp sensor like that, there is a different sensor for the ecu. So you might want to read up on stuff before you post.

But Billfisher just stated that.

I have a Buddy Club temperature adapter for your radiator hose, brand new in Tampa, Jose from AeroK is selling the same exact one.
