aight so i need to find away to be able to get my car leagally from my house to the track without towing it or insuring it, y? because my daddy said so. lol i don't want to pay 200 bucks a month for insurance on a car im only gonna drive twice a month. I've heard of people using "temporary license plates" that only cost a dollar a day at the dmv but when i went and asked they said they had never heard of it and to try a auto tag shop, and they never heard of it either...

welcome to america your answer is called truck and trailor or pay for insurance, or drive it illegally like the rest of us. Or pay 1 month insur get plate cancel insurance but it will only work for a little while

it isnt worth the risk if you get caught, fines are high for driving around without insurance and registration. if its a short distance than maybe.

they are cutting down on this in 09', once your insurance is cancelled or not paid for you get a nice letter from state of florida asking you to surrender your license plate or they will suspend your license

yea but either way thats not one of my options because my dad has to do it with me watever it is i decide to do and it has to be legit.... i just got a call from one of my friends that told me that u can by 30 day tags at coral springs drive and atlantic for under 30 dollars for 1 month.

there is no legal way of doing it without having insurance. you can just get AAA and have them tow it to events just call them at 3am so u get to the events by noon

here the funny thing the insurance card doesn't even have to be for that car i have registered dozens of cars with old insurance cards from other cars and even borrowed my dads once because we have the same name i just tell em i haven't got the new card but i already transferred the insurance but this usually only works if your just transferring a tag not buying a new plate....or you cane make friends with some small dealership somewhere in Miami or Hialeah and pay like 20-50 bucks depending on how well you know them for one of there temporary tags but those only last a month

although the 1st method i isnt "legal"when you get pulled over and have no proof of insurance i did get pulled over once in a 240sx and gave the cop my expired cadillac fleetwood insurance card and he didnt notice since i used that car to tranfer the plate it was in the system i guess or i just got lucky and he didnt notice...

well, quite on the contrary, you can get temp tags. i went to the tax collectors office, told them i needed a temp tag for a car i was going to purchase and drive home. valid for 1 week, however i just changed the date and put it back on for about 2 months till i got the money to insure the car. also did this on my motorcycle, said it was home built and in this instance you need to get the bike inspected at the dmv in order to get a title. so they gave me a temporary tag so i could ride it to dmv for inspection.
good thing is none of these tags say when they expire in the system, only on the plate itself. but idk see what you can do man

ok so my dad forced me to insure my car through geico but the guy told me that for BASIC coverage as in the legal limit, it came ot to 226 a month! unfortunatly my dad did not give me a choice and forced me to insure my car thorugh geico, but i wana kno wat everyone else pays for their 240s. cuz i think its rediculous that im paying $226
