ok my clutch finally gave out and i want to know if ther is anyway to troubleshoot wether its the slave or the master cylinder, i can only afford to buy one right now and not both, i havent looked at it right now cause im frustrated and tired but when the pedal started loosing pressure i looked at everything and ther are no leaks, the only place its coming out of is the resevoir cap and thats recent, no idea why? any input would be appreciated

If you dont have pedal pressure then its probably your master. Figure out your leak first..

the master cylinder has cup seals, the way they work is when you press on the pedal, they "expand" and force fluid through the lines, and when you retract the pedal, they "fold in" and allow fluid to pass through... if the pedal stays pressed, and after a few seconds the slave cylinder retracts, its usually the non serviceable cup seals in the master cylinder, which means replace it... or i have no idea what im talking about, just trying to help

^thats right the seals fold out (pedal pressed) and fold in (pedal released). Can you disengage the clutch at all to get in out of gear? If nothing happens then you can assume the master is bad unless the system is dry(alot of air, A LOT!). If the slave is leaking you "should" see it, try folding back the boot and see if you see fluid (mine leaks like crazy). The way I try to think of it is if the master moving fluid then pressure goes through the lines to the slave, If the slave is bad or theres some air in the system the piston in the slave should still move some but if nothing happen then the master is not moving any fluid pressure (you can see when the slave piston moves). Hope that helped some.

well i just finished rebuilding my slave and so far so good, if it fails agian ima have to rebuild or buy a new master, so far NOTHING was leaking before or after so it must of been a small leak weeping air into the system, ill drive for a copuple of days and update this thread accordingly

lol what does the rebuild kit come with?? i never rebuilt one before, isnt there only 3 pieces to it??

im serious make a how to

u pull the piston out remove the old molded o-ring, isntall new o-ring, replace spring with the new one included, reinstall piston into cylinder, install new dust boot, done!!!

the hardest part was getting the skirt of the o ring in before the piston, other than that anyone can do it
