Yes i already have another thread, but i need my car to get to school tmr so i need a quick answer

so my cars been having misfiring issues latley, i decided to buy a little gapper tool for 98 cents and ajust the gap since i never did that when i put the spark plugs in not too long ago

ive never ajusted the gap before, so im guessing i over stressed the head or whatever that top part is that i have to bend down, because when i was putting the spark plug in and setting it to torque, it just kept spinning freely so im like ok wtf

i take the spark plug out and im like, somthing looks funny

not my actual picture, but it pretty much looks like this

i got the spark plug itself out, but the threaded piece with that thing you bend is still stuck in there..... any idea how the hell i can get this thing out?

Damn man i hope i never get your luck with cars..

tell me about it...

i found out today spark plug torque specs are in INCH pounds
my dumbass used 18 foot lbs :0wned:

im gonna try easy out and see how that goes

would over-torquing the crap out of my spark plugs be the cause of the misfiring?

i could have swore i saw a tool for this at work at advance auto parts the other day.... i think it was called save a plug or something like that...

there is a special tool they came cuz its a common problem for newer ford trucks. try a flathead and a hammer to notch a groove in it to spin it out with a screwdriver.next time put it in by hand and then do 3/4 turn if its a new plug or a used plug do 1/4 turn

i was going to say, there's no way gapping did that. that was from being over torqued!

damn though, sorry this happened to you.

omg im sorry but damn that was funny as fuck!

Well i double checked the owners manual, and it says 12-24 FOOT pounds, not inch pounds, so atleast i didnt over torque it by using the wrong measurement

but i still probably over torqued it, and i dont really like to trust a torque wrench of that light of a torque... why i did? i have no idea

anyways im gonna try using easy out to get hte spark plug out, and i got new spark plugs AGAIN, and im gonna use the wires from my old engine since i never had any problems with that

hopefully the problem was the wires, if not... then i have no idea

check your other thread, and good luck man

i would never torque sparkplugs period lol.

the way i do it to make sure its on point is mark the sparkplug with a marker, then install them with all the marks facing the eright way, then get them till they are handtight then turn them 1/4 turn(to make sure its tight) and match all the marks with all the other sparkplugs, so its perfect.

I've never had issues with my spark plugs :)

yeah i leanred that athe hard way lol, anyways i just got a video of my car driving

it was misfiring like a bitch but you cant really tell from the video.. and i actually got a video of it dying out at a stop sign, and when i tryed to start it back up, i had to keep the rpms steady at 1.5k meanwhile the needle was boucning around between 1 and 2k

gunna upload the video and put it in the other thread
