anyone done the short intake?

hey guys. well since i work at nights and shit. i gots lots of time on my hands so ive been working on my car alot.
i just dont have a camera ill get one soon.

i relocated my battery to the back.
and im attempting to make the short intake side ram intake.

now here is my question

there is two hoses the top that goes to the valve cover. and the one next to the intake.
can i put lil cone intakes on them 2.
or just the valve cover, and conect the one next to the intake.
if i leave it open the car stalls and if i plug it it dosnt rev right....
any imput would be great cus i cant find anything all the posts i found had crappy piks or dead link.s
 
the valve cover one is just a vent. the other hose is for the iacv so you have to hook it up after the maf.

Hook them both up. The little Filters are for Gays.

I've done this before. Make sure you have a 90* bend between the MAF & the TB.
 
why the 90? to prevent water from coming in or what?????

So the MAF doesn't get Turbulence. You can either do a 90* right off the TB or a 45* to another 45*. There just needs to be a bend and some distance(not much).

ok so idid it. i used the stock rubber thing with the nipple for the valve cover then a 90 degree pvc pipe. to a rubber intercooler coupler and to the maf.
is pretty tight., and i had to custom fit a second nipple for the vacuum but i dont like how it came out. im going to do it again but with a 90 degree nipple so the vacum line fits straight without curbing and shit.,
and i put the lil filter on the valve cover but it looks like shit... so im gona conect that hose too.

Woot i already noticed the diference., like the response is x2. lol
thats right +1.5 HP lol jk i dont know. all i know is it looks and feels better. i gota re do it right and paint it and hide the wires to make it look clean.

ill post piks soon when i get a damn camera.....
 
Get rid of the PVC. Goto a Muffle shop and match of a piece of the MAndrel bent scrape and give the guy $5.
 
ZAK what is your opinion about removing EGR valve from KA's? Ive done it in the past, but dont know if im hurting or making it better.

Do it. It cleans up the engine bay. If you are running a Factory header or Aftermarket header. A nickel fits in the tube that goes to the header. just use the screw on part from the tube out a nickel in the hole and your good there. On the other side trance the shape of the EGR valve on a piece of plate steel cut use some Silicone and your good to go.

I got rid of the whole thing. Weird idle but everything goes back to normal when the car warms up.

Z4k is right on point.

Put the hose back on the valve cover, its there to make pressure in the crank case. Those filters look gay as shit and don't do anything.

The EGR doesn't do much, it may affect your gas mileage but nothing else. Best way I found to delete it, being cheap is:

get a nickle - cut the egr pipe off and keep the threads, drop the nickle in the hole and thread in the threaded section
get a 1/16-1/8" thick piece of sheet steel - spray paint over the EGR to get the bolt holes, cut and drill around the EGR and use HIGH temp silicone on both sides - sandwich the metal between the EGR and the head.

And if your going for a clean look, for the hoses on the intake. Go grab some different color hoses or something from lowes/home depot.
