Pilot bearing owning me. Help!

I'm swapping a ka24de that came from an automatic into my coupe which is manual so I need to remove the pilot bearing from both of them except I have been trying all day and nothing. We tried it with a slide hammer and by filling the fucker with grease and hammering a taped up socket in to create outward pressure but haven't been able to move the fucker at all. Any advise?

Well we went to advance and autozone and neither one had the tool. I guess I'll try another advance tomorrow. This sucks, it's holding back the entire swap. I got one more day to put this shit together if not it's walk to work for the next 5 days and my girl ain't going to be too happy. I swear I'm just going to throw an engine swap bbq and get anyone that wants to help me to come over.

I've actually been reading around and a lot of people say to just chisel out the motherfucker. That gets the automatic one out, but we need to find a puller tool. I think the one from autozone conbined with a claw pulling thing might work like we thought about earlier.

All right, I'm filling that socket with bondo. Fucking shit dude. this is the puller tool. We need to get that along with something like the steering wheel puller. We are going to need a little more manpower if we are going to try to finish tomorrow. I'm going to see who the fuck wants to help.

Detailed Description
Pilot Bearing Puller Attachment
This versatile attachment is designed to be used with OEM slide hammer #27033 or any manufacturers' slide hammer that is similarly threaded 5/8" x 18Or 3/4" IIt inserts behind the bearing to allow it to be safely hammered out with the slide hammer. It will also pull the bearings and bushings on starters and generators.

wtf why doesnt autozone have the one for the pullers they have

I'm looking into the emissions thing too. I might work on that before I go to sleep. Anything else you can think off let me know.

yeah u needs to be all over that emmisions crap so it can be done tommorow and running
everything else minus the pilot bushing should just plug back up
o and dont forget to loop the heater hoses unless u got baby hands now is the time to do it, ill call u tommorow when im up

All right ronch. I'll be up by six trying the grease method until I can go rent the puller thing. I'm a have to walk there if need be.

The problem is that autozone had a puller but the threading didn't fit the slide hammer. And discount had the slidehammer without the puller attachment. We'll claim victory today. Like I said It's my last day off and I need to have the car running so anyone interested in helping me out in the kendall area PM me. I might bbq if I get enough people to help out and trust me, I grill like a fucking monster.

Easiest way for me to get one out is with a heavy ball pin hammer and a chisel. With two or three hard hits the bearing will fly out trust me. I have tried a slide hammer and a puller both fuckers broke on me trying this. Good luck

Thanks to everyone. I got the fucker out today. I am now wearing it as a ring. We tried the grease method except I used a socket that fit snug filled with bondo.
