pre mixing

I think this is in the right section, if not sorry.

Some one told me that its good (for an 89 rx7 gxl) to pre mix the gas with a little fo 2cycle oil. So I was wondering if their was anyone on this forum that has done this before and how much I should mix together. Also what are the results you have gotten.

When you do whole fill ups or partial fill ups, doesn't matter, just divide your tank and figure out how much to stick it. It'll lubricate the motor and last longer.

supposedly the previous owner said that the o rings are a little dryed up will the premix help that?

Many people usually premiix when, OMP or the OMP injectors fail. They usually block off the OMP and run premix instead of locating the expensive parts. Premixing will make your car smoke a little and smell more like a lawn mower. It does better lubricate your motor, but if their is nothing wrong with your oil system you really don't need it. It is questionable whether there are any improvements in actually premixing, but it is a good back-up in case of OMP failure.

What rings are you talking about?

i dont know he told me the o rings in the engine are a little dryed up so that why it smokes a litttle around 5xxx rpms

so basicly unless i have problems with my oili dont really need to premix it or it would still make a difference in engine care cause the engine has 162xxx miles and dont got money for a swap right now i might head out to a junkyard to look around

whaaat... pre mixing to lubed dried up o-rings... lol...

the only fix for o-rings are new o-rings...

premixin is good weather you have or dont have an omp, it helps longevity..

...if your NA i have been told that revving high keeps the carbon buildup out of the engine... but then again too much of something can become a bad thing... especially if you have no oil in the engine...

.but yeh, usually a few oz of 2 cycle oil straight into to gastank b4 a full up

Pettit Racing recommends doing it whether your OMP Injectors are working or not. They are religious about pre mixing. So I just do it to be safe, costs like nothing.

man i want to be odd and get a rotary... they rev high, get poor gas milage and break more often the stupid piston motors, and i like that. tee he he

^^ Yup. And you can have the luxury of buying oil and at gas stations look like a crazy person putting it in your gas tank.
