thanks for the link im missing one piece for a bunch of them. and id do it. for 5 bucks if your missing a piece you could come out rich. anyways make money however you can people are poor

conceptually there is nothing wrong or weird with what he is doing. he has many extra pieces that are worth virtually nothing to him and if someone is missing 1 piece that they'd have to eat $10 worth of food to get then its a win:win. they're giving up something for something else that is worth more than what they're giving up. economics at work. except he might be better off trying to make more money in other ways.
