WTF 7M Experianced Machine Shop in Miami!

Ok, Im looking around for a Machine Shop in the miami area thats experienced with the 7M-GTE. I want to find a machine shop that has rebuilt 7M's befor and that the customer has been satisfied and fount their motor to be reliable and problem free. Anyone got any clues? My Supra blew the head gasket and hasn't been moved since. Wastegates shimmed at 10psi and will remain that way without the addition of a boost controller. I need this car as a daily and im pretty much doing all the out of date maintenace that the car needs. Im considering a basic rebuild on the motor and want someone who will rebuild my motor to Manufacturer Specifications. Any and all help would be appreciated.
 
just replace the head gasket, even if you rebuild it you will be replacing them often with a 7M
 
Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy another engine? Thats like rebuilding my turbo ka with factory internals, having to match bearing sizes bore the cylinders resurface the head blah blah blah, screw that. Its wayyy cheaper and easier to find another engine that is in running condition. Im sure you can find 7m's all over the place.

Remember, 1jz engine sets are about 2,000. You would come damn close to that rebuilding your 7m that you have with parts and labor included.
 
the thing is that i've shopped around for 7m's... good ones are $1100. other than that i dont really have a garantee on any of the other ones i buy. the car blew the head gasket parked infront of my house... i never heard any rod knock or anything... i just checked my radiator and noticed it was empty... drained the motor and there was my coolant. i might just have to resurface my head and reseal the motor... but i want this thing reliable at 10psi. (i know, reliable+7M doesn't exist but as close to it as possible)
 
take the head off and check it for warpage. It's probably not warped if it has not been extremely overheated. If it's warped, go to a machine shop (cylinder head exchange is a good one) and get it resurfaced (I paid 50-60 bucks) they can also put new seals in and do a valve job also for you. get a cometic headgasket and (80-100) and arp headstuds (100-150) and you'll never have a problem with blowing a headgasket at 10 psi.

-or get a 1j. my friends got one with stock engine and stock turbos on 18psi making 350whp.
 
well the head gasket that the supra blew was a 1.2mm HKS MHG... it allready has ARP Head Studs wich from what i've heard are re-usable. I got the complete 7M-GTE gasket kit so so far i can reseal the motor with no problems. I want to see if i can unbolt the head and check the cylinders for coolant. I've drained the motor oil but want to make sure that no coolant is left in the motor and i want to physically check the head gasket. want to confirm that its a MHG and want to see if the HG blew or if it just shifted because of the heat.

I've been trying to get a hold of Lebbet. She told me a while back that she had a good 7M that she was selling. Im not sure if she's sold it or not but when ever i call it says she's not accepting calls. Her and I have a pending buisness transaction anyways... I just want this damn thing running... Its my only car and im getting tired of bumming rides of family members or friends.

damn that sux big ones, i remember you just got it back a couple of months back... well i have a 7m gte sitting in my garage, but thats for my car.. good luck with the motor.. i dont have any machine shops that could help cuz i cant even find one for my car... i'll let you know if i come by any.....
 
cool shit man! its good to see your keeping your MA70. Last i remembered you were trying to sell both that one and the silver one. Nice to see your keeping the car. I got a 7M allready sourced so i just gotta re-seal it and drop it back into my car. I also have a turbo tranny sourced so i gotta get a new clutch/flywheel... build up's suck ass but are more than worth it when the cars done.
 
yeah my motor came with the turbo tranny,driveshaft, and i have an LSD off the white parts car, also if you still need a 3peice wing i got one for you... i'll let it go for $50 just let me know...
 
nah, i'll pass... all this time staring at mine without the wing.... i've grown to like it to tell you the truth... altho when i get my Z32 hood its gonna look a bit weird... might just add a Carbon fiber wing on the supra and call it quits... i got a bomz racing type z but its too short... i want a 59 in wide gt wing the bomz one ends at the end of the hatch... i want to go past the fenders.
 
that works, I had two . my motor came with one but i sold that one along with a bunch of parts off my parts car before it went to the junker...
 
thats good to hear... i wish you the best with your project man. maybe ill see you at one of the events when both cars are %95 (can't be %100, after all, they are 7M's)
 
if u have the money, i know someone selling a 7m turbo-A motor for 4,500

if u dont know wat it is, think of a 7m done correctly from factory (toyota/hks) putting about 500hp to the wheels on 20lbs. They only made 500 of them.
 
yeah, i know about the turbo A... lebbets selling me a motor she has... 60k and not blown. just a bit longer and my project will be complete... my boys got a turbo tranny for me and i got his non turbo... i just need clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, etc. relube my 2 way diff, slap it back up with the turbo drive shaft off my parts car. throw the motor in and partially install the wiring harness... buy some eibachs & suspension technique sway bars to replace my worn ones, take the kyb's off my parts car and slap em on, then intercooler piping and an hks ssq bov and away she goes (not counting interior)
