that fad started on the track as a way to identify where the tow hook is at. First time i saw it was at the first fairgrounds event. honda drivers see it and think its jdm tyte son. i even had a friend prove this theory by putting a small x on the corner of his windshield and he said within a month he saw a couple other hondas do the same thing
