Why this keep on breaking

what cause this thing to crack like that ? if you see at the top on the pipe that hold the wastegate " is re-welded" because it craked 3 days ago. one of my friend did the welding and after 3 days crak at the bottom.

$$ 750 manifold " JG AUTOWORKS " and the downpipe of the turbo has flex pipe on it.. and the wastewate it has opend dump pipe
shitty ebay manifold plus no flex pipe in your exhaust im guessing

bad welds + probably bad materials + vibration + thermal loads . Those are the reasons manifolds crack.

You could imagine the thermal stress something like a turbo manifold see's.

Its probably vibrating or hitting something... are your engine mounts good?

why dont u contact "jg autoworks"

i know my self.. and dont want problems, i know he did shit on this manifold.. this add is not to trow shit on him. it's all good. , i just want to fix it or do something to avoid craking.,

..can be the mounts ? I put new Solid mounts 2 months ago. i dont know if the gasket in the wastegate burn out..but it dosnt have one! if the wastegate dont have gasket..that can couse to crak the welding or manifold ?

The mounts could contribute but so does driving the car. Like gsracer said, its either bad materials or bad welds. Since the flange itself cracked, it could also be vibrating against something or just b/c of bad design and thermal expansion.

Dont worry about gaskets or heat wrap or any stupid shit like that. This is a materials/construction/design issue.

Lol I'm running into the same problems with my manifold man. Many manifolds tend to crack overtime.
But the first time we didn't weld it the right way. The weld didn't penetrate very deep into the crack, it was just like putting a bandaid over the crack.

This time we're taking it to a real welder with good materials and a lot of experience. We're also pretty much reinforcing the whole manifold at this point so we don't have to go through this again. If it goes good I'll shoot you the guy's number and location so you can check it out.

I should have the manifold back by this Friday. If you want to give your friend another shot with the welding, then just make sure he penetrates deep into the manifold FILLING the crack, not just covering it up.

good to know, and i think my friend did a good weld there. he took his time doing it., but let me know how your work after the new weld .GL
