I enjoyed D1GP. Especially because D1 is what officially brought drifting to the U.S. as a sport. FD is nothing but a show IMO, just a fake store front. It's a Nascar version of drifting. As someone mentioned previously, the drivers I've seen in D1 seemed to drive hell of a lot harder than anyone I've seen in FD.
From what I know, D1 disappeared because drivers were not getting judged fairly. Really good runs were being disregarded because of car appearance. Which I think is BS anyway. You don't see rally drivers getting kicked out mid race because they lost a body panel a 1/4 into the race. The whole, you must have a presentable car turns me off about FD. I understand the car should look somewhat appealing, but their standards of appearance is just way to strict for a dang drift car.
