Why I will be boycotting D1GP, and you should too.

I enjoyed D1GP. Especially because D1 is what officially brought drifting to the U.S. as a sport. FD is nothing but a show IMO, just a fake store front. It's a Nascar version of drifting. As someone mentioned previously, the drivers I've seen in D1 seemed to drive hell of a lot harder than anyone I've seen in FD.

From what I know, D1 disappeared because drivers were not getting judged fairly. Really good runs were being disregarded because of car appearance. Which I think is BS anyway. You don't see rally drivers getting kicked out mid race because they lost a body panel a 1/4 into the race. The whole, you must have a presentable car turns me off about FD. I understand the car should look somewhat appealing, but their standards of appearance is just way to strict for a dang drift car.

D1 Usa is not the same thing as D1GP, You also know the two guys who started FD ran the company (slipstream global) that brought D1 to the states in the first place and the first 2 D1GP events in the states. They started FD because at the time D1 japan had no intention of creating a US based series.

D1 Usa is like a franchise, it is run and owned by people using the D1 name and a just a couple of their drivers. I mean its cool they came down to florida last year but think about the 3 events that were abruptly canceled halfway through the season, those places were looking forward to having an event in their area just to be disappointed. Say what you want about FD but atleast they are consistent. They always follow through on their promises. They have never canceled an event. And if FD was as bad as people make it out to be I doubt Japanese drifters (Miki, Takatori, Dai, Haruguchi, etc) would make the trip out to drive in the series.

I have been to a couple D1GP events in cali one at irwindale and one at California speedway and They were awesome some of the best events I have ever been to. Thats why D1 Usa pisses me off since the events are run like Nopi was.

I think too many ppl put their toward FD based on what they read of events on the internet but have never attended an event. Seriously D1 is nothing more than NOPI events, FD is a whole other class of event. And thats from someone thats been to all 3

^^ im with this yellow guy!!

i just wanna drive against saito or gitten or any big name, even tho they will kick my ass like ive never drifter before. its like having sex with jessica alba knowing she has STD's. WHO CARES, ITS JESSICA ALBA!! its well worth it!!
