Who really knows KA's?????

so i've been messing with my timing (moving the distributor around) and i cant seems to get it just right. its almost there just that it idles horribly and when i start it in the morning it stays on on the second try maybe sometimes the third try. and when i touch the throttle th RPMS go down b4 going up. i have a timing light but dont know how to read it cuz it has no screen. and i did some research on alldata and i read about the "idle adjusting screw". where is that located on the car? and it said i need a "consult"

pics would help alot. thank you!!!!!

first get the timing right with the light. second u dont need a digital rpm read out to tell u your rpms thats wat ur tach is for. thrid idle air screw is at the back of the intake mani near the passenger strut tower. its right next to the nipple for the vaccum hose going to the brake booster. and fourth no u dont need the consult link

yes its a flat head not a socket its a big gold screw

LMAO... dude take it to a person that knows how to do it... if you mess up that Idle screw, you will live with crappy idle for the rest of your life... do yourself a favor go to discount auto or autozone and buy a chilton handbook for your car...

bolt- sockets, screw- screwdriver. its a phillips/flat combo head screw if i remember right. timing light is simple connect the gator clamps to + and - of battery. connect inductive pick up around plug wire one. then start the car. bring the light over to the driver side. point it down to illuminate the car and look for a stud thats pointing out. match it up with the appropriate mark on the crank pulley. also make sure car is fully warmed up and tps is disconnected before messing with timing. here are the values of the marks from left to right as if your were looking from the front of the car.
5 atdc 0 tdc 5 btdc 10 btdc 15 btdc 20 btdc. stcok ignition timing on the 240 is 20 btdc
