who is a fighter here?

18-0 as a amatuer boxer in heavy weight

id def be down for some boxing but im not in florida anymore. cant do anything other then boxing cause if i got caught with a leg lock my acl would tear again and im not down with that. im gonna be back in like 6 months if this is still goin down. i have 6 sets of gloves in several different sizes but most are pretty big. Ive never fought anyone that i would consider good though.

Was that after you smoked weed or before?

nah i wouldnt mess with him either just saying he's really nice i had worked on his bike when i worked at riva and gave me a $100 tip and was talking to me about ufc

kimbo was a nice dude, but i grapple him when he didnt know shit about BJJ. So, he pretty much tried to escape by giving me his back, you dont need to be a badass to choke someone who is giving you his back. Also, he is not that big. Alessio Sakara looked bigger as well as jeff monson...

I agree with you on kimbo not being very big he's a little taller than i am and a little hefty

damn..you have done EVERYTHING everyone else has done..

your like a jack off err i mean jack of all trades!

Messing around will lead to accidents, you choke someone out, you roll into a knee bar or ankle lock, even an americana you can leave a lot of damage. Unless you have someone in there who has a fair amount of expirience coaching or training you guys, you shouldnt fuck around...

QFT I couldn't begin the list of injuries I've gotten from it. But the common denominator was somebody could exercise self control

many times we exercise self control in class because of the respect to the sensei or instructor. But, we all know that if it is messing around in a backyard someone is going to get butt hurt and try to make it serious. In reality is in our animalistic behavior, at times i have gotten nailed pretty hard and i want to inflict the same amount of pain to the other guy, but i have held myself back because of respect for the school, instructor, and the people watching. I even got kneed on the face and it splited my face open, i wanted to kill that guy, but out of respect i just iced it and went back out...

very true... i cant even tell you how many times i have been playing sports or play fighting with friends and someone takes it up a notch and it becomes serious that quickly.

iv been doing some BJJ at a local place under scott kenny, and james horne. Horne has trained with Mir for a long time as his pops is his manager. Great guys to train with.

Rob hit the nail on the head, its all about respect in the building while your there, and controlling yourself more then others control themselves. Anyone could power thru a move and have it sink in, but thats where injuries usually occur, the best bet is to work it slowly with technique rather then force it with power. Shit my knee is still a lil banged up from 3 weeks ago.

i really dont recommend this backyard stuff, someone will end up going to the hospital

I'm second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and used to do street fights in high school for some money. But that mess around stuff in peoples backyards doesnt last long. I've went to two of those to mess around and people don't like it when you give them a good pop to the face, gloves come off and it just turns into real fighting.

Sumo?

Thats me handling business back in 04. The guy with the black strap on.
