weird grey box in s14 ???

I have converted my auto s14 to manual with KA. I saw this weird grey electronic box where it was located in the original place of Clutch pedal before I install it. There is a beeper inside of it and since I have moved that box I am having short circuit in some part of the vehicle..

The question is; Does any one know what is that box ? Can I just remove it ?
 
take a pic. I THINK it might be the electronic shift lock crap thing. with out that the car wont release the key from the ignition
 
if im not mistaken on the box your refering to its just the stupid warning box like when your key is in the ingnition and you open your door or leave your lights on i usually remove mine and throw it out.......

no if he has a s14 the lock for the shifter is actually a cable not electronic like an s13.....

oh werd. that shit in s13's is gay. if the battery dies OOH there goes the car keeping my key
 
The key release thing is a cable that is attached to shifter actually, thats how it is on S14. S13 are with a button as far as I know.. Yeah the thing is like a buzzer I dont know if I should keep it or remove it. it bothers me moving my feet but it might be useful as far as functionality..
 
take it out and see what happens?
if everything works like it should then keep it out..
if something doesnt work then you know you need it
