Wanted to experience a diffrent part of Florida I have never experienced before. The girlfriend and I took a trip to Weeki Wachee Springs. Got purposely lost on the way there and saw some awesome shit and places that I never thought existed in Florida. Rolling hills and towns made up of brick roads.
The first day we decided to go to the Weeki Wachee State Park and do the waterpark thing they had. I've seen pictures of this place before and knew the water was clear, but pictures do not do the water justice. Water is 74 degres year round and is clear as day, I calculated it having a visibility of 75 feet from a picture I took with my iPhone.
The second day we went kayaking, thinking it would be better being that it was the first day back to school and the river wouldn't be packed with kids. We were told there could be a chance to see manatee somewhere in the river. Within 5 minutes from launching our kayaks we came across a baby one. 30 minutes down river a "Fishing Spider" though it would be a good idea to hitch a ride with me. NOT TODAY. Suffering from a panic attack and shaking I did my best with getting the kayak to land and quickly terminated the massive spider. Other than that little incident it was a relaxing 5 mile trip.
