We didn't see this coming WW joins the dark side

He also lowered his car ALOT. He's slowly reaching back into my heart again.

That's how a car should be lowered.

i liked the old setup better, now he's no different from all the big company teams that run identical setups in all of their cars...smh

the car looked good with that paint job and the flip ups, now it looks like shit and runs with the crowd :boring:

No no no.

This is when it was at its prime

Looked like a street car back then, and it performed like one too. Slow and shallow angle everywhere. Now it looks like a race car (proper ride height, no faggot stretched tires), and has a bad ass motor. His driving game is gonna go through the roof.

Don't get me wrong, all these stanced out car look fucking awesome, but they should leave that shit for the street. The track is all business. I'd rather have my car look fucking awesome when it's driving rather then when it's sitting still.

well nascar is pretty much all the same cars setup and everything . maybe they want drifting to be the same way with the rules of suspension ..or maybe its actually geometrically better to ride the car like that . i would do the same if i was any good in this drifting thing

soooooooo this isn't toward latino or get low but i want to say this.

the "what a fag, look what FD drivers joined the V8 game this season" talkers are fucking dumb. not all FD cars are the same, unlike nascar there all basically the same fucking car and your approach to be better is very minimal.

its like i am a FD driver, but i dont want to be bandwagon so im going to stick to my SR and street prepped car and compete while i think i'll still be competitive.

ORRRRR be fucking realistic and and have a track car (even still doable on a budget) that makes power, drives like a track car is supposed to be, drive in FD and make it more then 1-2 rounds and not be left 100 yards back not to mention as above watch your car basically drive itself and your driving skills improve tremendously.

/rantttttttttttttttt

IMO i think FD will be best yet this year, there are a handful of drivers this year that have stepped there game up and will make for some interesting competition and scenarios this year from drivers that washed out the competition in previous years.

DEBATE

I think it's cool that people have opinions about engine setups and crap. I'm sure everyone knows that v8 is the best option, but that doesn't mean someone can't like 4 cyl cars more.

just annoying when its looked at as "bandwagon"

but when you want to excel, be competitive and have a chance of winning you have to do what makes you competitive.

Yeah definitely, and everyone knows that, but people still like 4 cyl cars.

You can like 4 cylinder cars all you want, but it's stupid when people point out the fact that their 4 cylinder hero went with a V8 instead and then start start hating them for it. It's competition, and these guys build their cars so they can win, not to satisfy their fans. Same thing with drivers that used to have stanced out cars. They realized their car isn't competitive because of how low their car is and that their stretched tire isn't providing the traction they are needing to keep up with Vaughn Gittin or Daijiro Yoshihara. If Taka Aono went V8 in his Corolla, I'd be stoked because now he's gonna have a better car, and the Corolla might make it to the podium.

i know you knew what i meant, it was more specifically toward small displacement competitors (anything smaller then a 5.7 stamped on it lol)

or a torque less power plant, but big displacement gets the job done.

it will be interesting to see diago's z40 this year ;)

Why is it stupid? It's cool that people even care about this stuff.

It's kind of like, say you like a band, but then they decide to put out a new album that is some straight buttrock Nickelback garbage, and they get rich.

So, you don't buy that album, or listen to it or anything. Not because they "sold out" or whatever, but because it's not something you're into.

idk if i agree with that, not because i hate V8s or anything. I actually support it. But I dont think a V8 automatically makes you some beast behind the wheel. Im sure if he felt a V8 would of helped him podium he would of done it by now. Honestly not a lot of people even drive AE86 in FD(that are getting top 32 finishes) so there is no one we could actually compare it to. Lets say if in the near future someone drops a v8 monster in an AE86 and starts ripping it in FD getting top 16 finishes then we have someone to compare Taka to...but right now there isn't. At the end of the day its up to that team to decide what motor to drop in there. Lets say if he got a huge sponsor and they placed him a more competitive car (like forsberg, pawlak, or dai) ill be curious how he would and if his car is holding him back.

But, I do think Taka is going to have a solid season this year, and should easily finish in the top 20 unlike last season

On a side note the top 8 finishes last year were all v8s, followed by a v6 and a 13b. So idk how much that has to do with V8s being everywhere in FD or if its just the drivers are that gnarly (top 8 were all veterans expect for powers) or if V8s gave them the edge they needed.

I guess, but I see motorsports as competition, not entertainment. It's 2 different views and neither are wrong. I'm just biased towards my view. That's not to say I look down on people who don't step up their game with a V8 or whatever. In fact, I gave lots of respect to Walker for rocking the SR in FD, but I knew the day would come when he would go V8. So this is why I don't care if he went V8 or not. I'm actually happy he is building a competitive car.

I think the Corolla can be competitive with the right money and suspension set up. Look at the Corollas in D1. Sure, more and more are starting to fall out of competition, but I think that is because they are harder to find and a lot of money for a car you need to put a lot of money into to make it competitive.

Why wouldn't a V8 make it a better car? 1UZ-FE's are lighter than SR's and make a good amount of torque for such a light car. And from what I've seen, SR Corollas have been pretty competitive in D1 (Hibino back in 06-08). The reason Taka hasn't gone with a V8 is because he is a 4AGE fanatic. This year he finally changed it up to a 2AZ-FE because he wanted to keep it four cylinder. I applaud him for breaking out of his purism and going with a bigger engine which makes more power and torque.

I also agree that he will do much better this year with the new powerplant, and I can't wait to see what he pulls off with such a monster of a Corolla, but I think if someone with the proper skills comes to FD with a V8 Corolla, he would be pretty damn good. But then again, why hasn't anyone in FD already tried it? You might be right on that one.

don't get me wrong, i loved seeing under budget/lesser powered cars holding there own in FD and just doing there thing as good as they can.

it's also nice to see those same drivers doing better things and will see how this all unfolds. im not saying just bc they have a V8 they will just be on top of every podium this season, but your wrong if you don't think there will be some amazing driving and some very interesting line ups
