water damage help!!!

Ok heres the deal. by a major stupid act i forgot to close my miata windows and latch on the soft top. Well it happenned that night it rained like there was no tomorrow. the whole interior obvisouly got soaked. my question is that if i just leave the top down on a sunny day and let it dry out would that work? or if any of you guys know of any cleaners to help remove any funky smells or moisture? my last resort is just to gut out all of the carpets run on bare metal interior and pressure clean the seats. any suggestions?
 
my dad says u can find like a gallon's worth at home depot for like 8 or 9 bux
 
ya we use simple green to clean thingsat my job it works ok what my brother did was just let it wait and a lot a lot a lot of those air freshners lol that what happen with his sunroof and windows three times you would think he would learn the first time
 
thanks guys I'm considering just gutting out all the carpet. Do any of you know if doing so will leave a metallic smell inside? And if gutting it out makes the interior of the car prone to rust more easily? That's what I'm more worried about
 
id take the carpet out wash it with simply green and let it dry outside the car then put it back in.
