Want some more details about chevy engines

Ok so my buddy has a wrecked 2500 with a 6.0. So what I've researched it's a LQ4. But it's suppose to be a cast iorn block but my buddy says it's all aluminum. Anyway what else I've read is that all parts are interchangeable between ls engines and that any ls mount kit will work to do swaps. Anyone else have any input on this?

Not positive in this case, but I have heard of mixing and matching LS parts with other motors. I'm sure you could tell a lot from pictures, and any further maybe check part numbers, etc

Yes everything mixes and matches. It is a steel block which to my knowledge is about a 100lbs more than aluminum version. If you have any ?s feel free to pm me.

The truck motors are steel and any ls mount kit will work

Seems like you got your answer. But yeah, LQ and LS blocks are mostly interchangeable.
