hey guys i did some research but cant find a tutorial with pics on how to replace the valve stem seals on a KA. any info would greatly be helpfull. thnk you
dude listen to this man.. your right you dont have to take the head off.... unless you fucking drop one in the cylinder... if your asking a question like this how to do it i really wouldnt recomend doing it... and besides by the time you bought the tools and and the head ache... oooooh its a head ache, it will cost you the same amout as taking it to the head shop to begin with.
and so you know.. you have to take the cams, gears all that bullshit to get to the valves on a dohc.. acutally i think both sohc and dohc.
Its not that hard at times, but you will have to buy a special tool, maybe 2. SO unless you plan on doing it a bunch of times, just take it to a shop and pay them to do it.
ive never done it on a KA, done it other cars, in fact doing it now on a caravan
Well, most machine shops will just accept a head to do work on it. If you do not have the experience or knowledge to remove and hand over your cylinder head directly to a machine shop, take it to a mechanic who can do everything for you.
I could make any special tool to replace the valve springs in my head, and even though I can make the tool to get the job done, I dont want to do it.
Are the valve stem seals leaking that bad to where you need to replace them? Are you sure its the valve seals that are making it smoke?
