vacuum leak or electrical problem?? or anything else

Im having a major problem with the engine its a kade we just finished putting back on "time" and it starts, but it shuts off after a bit, and if we try to rev it and hold it at....let say 1.5k or 2k it hesitates to stay at that rpm. when it drops to idle it stutters and shuts off.

any idea if its a vaccume leak or electrical??!!!
 
you cant really tell from that description...why dont you check the intake manifold and make sure there are no leaks and everything is plugged in and routed properly?
 
no i didnt pump the break i just start it thats it, and yea everything is plugged in right, a teacher of miine told me it could still be the timing that can be off though. but as far as the hoses everything is plugged in properly and no leak.

well to make the description more basic, i just timed the car because i removed the broken chain guides. so the distributor got off time when i pulled it out. i put everything back together and now its acting up. i starts and sounds perfectly fine but when it comes to idle it stutters and shuts off. and wont stay at a stant rev if you try holding it
