V mount Questions

Methwater injection is a band aid for an improper setup. Not cool. I have the same thoughts as the author of Maximum Boost, Corky Bell. Not on my car or any one that I have a part of.

really? i always thought of it as a plus. thought the idea of injection water to a compustion chamber does seem crazy.

The reason you would want to do meth or water injection is to control air temperatures. A better way to control air temperatures is to have a cold air pickup, a proper sized turbo, an efficient inter-cooler, enough octane, and correct amount of spark advance.

I explained why water\meth injection was a band aid fix a while ago in another technical thread.

mmm i will have to find it i would like to read more up on the subject. now would it be effeicent you think to have a puller kind of fan behind a FMIC so that when stoped and slow moving or not raming air, it is still sucking in air and cooling? i have always wounded this. Seeing as how when a car is in the drifto its sideways and not really ramming in air, or as good i should say. so with a fan pulling cold air into it would that help to maintian temp on the IC?

Well you have to take into consideration the reason why the air gets hot is because its being compressed from ambient (14.5psi) into your boost pressure in PSIG (G stands for gauge registered pressure) 14.5psi plus boost. While you are idling there is no heat being generated by the compressor wheel. On the other hand there is a little bit of heat being transfered from the warm engine bay and the center section of the turbo. There is a chance for the air temps to rise 15-20 degrees while you are sitting still for a little bit, but a good intercooler will dissipates that heat before the vehicle reaches 25-30mph. I guess you can put a fan on the intercooler but the installation would have to be tested with an accurate air temperature sensor after the intercooler.
