USDC CASINO EVENT FEEDBACK

Good event i had fun! if anyone is concerned about me VS Bill. Bill won rules are rules and thats it.
We were told not to hit the clips and I moved it with my nose= 0 score, i like it, the rules are harsh but will make us better drivers, just got to keep your distance! LOL!

I liked that the pits were separate from the spectators. I felt like I didn't have to worry about things getting stolen from my truck because there werent sketchy people wandering around. It also meant less people in the way to potentially hit when we are trying to drive our cars to and from the grid. If spectators want to see the cars, maybe other arrangements can be made where we can take our cars to the spectator area.

I agree with the clipping point rule for the most part, but Harri's clipping point nudge was rad. I feel like that should be viewed like a wall tap that doesn't affect the person's drift. But, i do agree that hitting it super hard should be point deductions.

I really would've liked to see a top 16 bracket so I could see who I was up against. And I think for the opening ceremonies we should've been lined up in order in the pits right after the drivers meeting so it wasn't a mess getting out on track.

Other than that, I thought that everything stayed pretty well on time, and I really liked having the schedule on the back of the driver/pit pass thing.

You are totally right. That was a cluster F#@K. definitely will go smoother than that. Drivers should have been told whom they were going against in the drivers meeting. And we will try to have something going on for the spectators turning drivers meetings.

My best advice to drivers at the next USDC event would be to pretend the clips are cement polls. Tapping one of those would be fatal to your run.

Only thing I have to say to get more bleachers, and I don't agree with the rule of tapping a clipping point results in a zero. If you tap a clipping point and it does not fall over you are a boss.

clipping points are to mark the absolute edge of where you should be, so hitting one even bumping means you went to far. its only been the last few years that anyone let you hit clips and get away with it and not really sure why. i remember when it was a zero in FD to touch a clip or put one tire off track.

i like that the rules for judging are strict helps do away with people saying judging is unfair

Big thanks to Will

I also got to thank Will Barrnet on saturday he proved to be the most unbiased judge i've ever scene. With his decisions of knocking out Harri and Kelsey It showed that if he won't go easy on two of his favorites of the day then I know I can trust his decisions to be honest and make the right call. Being a judge is a tough job. Thanks again Will:bigthumbu

Yea the judging was definitely fair. I hit the clip way too hard. I was just super bummed for harri because his runs were soooo sick. lol

if you cant tap a clip (not knock it over) then better not allow scraping a bumper on a wall, because its the same "over doing it".

autox style rules seem the best, if it doesnt fall over or move its sitting position, then its just perfect. if it wobbles but never actually slides or falls, then isnt that when its the best line possible?

this is easy to be strict on as well, so its not bad. but yea FD used to give 0 for hitting (not tapping) a clip.

i agree hitting a wall is going to far. i mean it looks cool so does tapping a clip with out knocking it over but thats not really the point in a judged competition

but it doesnt really matter what the rules are as long as they are decided on and told to the drivers before they drive so we dont have something like fd where sometimes tapping it is a deduction for some drivers then running it completely over isnt for others

From what I understood, there was a marked area around the clips, and so long as they stayed in that area upright, you were still given points with no deduction.

Yep. What he said. When harri hit he didn't knock it down but pushed it out of the zone.

i think there should be extra points given to hitting a clip. if you can manage to hit all the clips you are a god.
