I'm just a bit curious. I was looking for SR20DET bottom end parts and I bumped into a link of a Tomei SR20DET complete motor. I was very shocked at it's insane price tag of $20K. I wanted to know what makes this motor different, better, or more beneficial than one of our own garage builds. I mean 20K into a motor??? Is it made of special material from the deepest parts of earth or wtf?

tomei is best of the best. if u want power, reliability, and response, and u have money to spend, u go with tomei. but they have different line ups too that are cheaper. u can build ur own tomei motor for cheaper. they just sell full crate motors with warranty to back them up. so thats why they are pricey too.
Oh okay, so the one I was looking at was just one already set up. But I'm wondering, are you just paying for the tomei brand quality labor they put into into it with the factory block or do they have like a block that withstands higher revs? Like formula style stuff? Cause I mean the 20k price tag just freaked me out that's all.
