I have nistune, but remember you guys need the license to use the software as well.
Nistune is basiclly a daughter board that goes in place of the rom chip and you can tune and update all the cells in real time, without having to burn chips.
all that.
I'm currently running Nistune and love it. like gsracer said, it pretty much converts your stock ECU into a stand alone ECU at a fraction of the cost, with most of the features of a stand alone (does not support MAP sensors yet)
Moe, not to knock, but i think some of your prices may be off in your group buy, UNLESS you yourself have the tuner license, and will send the boards out, with a tune, and a socketed ECU..
you also have to desolder, and jump a link on the back of the motherboard, and then solder in a socket or use the supplied pins that come with the board.
even at that point, the board is damn near useless for tuning, UNLESS the shop has the tuner license.. then it's okay... i mean shit, $250 out the door, installed and tuned for a individuals car is pretty damn good price..
me, i chose the total package, i got the board, the licensed software, and the consult cable express shipped from Australia (origins of NIStune) for $433, hell, probably could have gotten it cheaper if i payed attention to currency exchange rates.. that all allows me to tune it myself, have a shop tune it, AND i have the Nissan. consult port cable w/USB for tuning, and diagnostics..
here's the current direct prices (subject to exchange rate fluctuation)
$AU240 = $219.339 USD Type 3 real-time board (S13 SR S13 KA)
$AU260 = $237.647 USD Type 4 real-time board (S14/15 SR/KA)
$AU200 = $182.805 USD NIStune license (single user)
$AU600 = $548.416 USD NIStune license (Tuner Edition)
$AU95 = $86.8266 USD Consult Cable (Serial/USB)*
someone asked if it can turn off sensors, and yes in can in the feedback switch section.
it also supports widebands, just like a standalone, and your Innovate LC-1 will work right there in NIStune, with your AFR display, AEM UEGO sucks for it though, so i sold mine and got a LC-1..
it's also fairly easy for the DIY guy, with mine, i loaded in my 550cc, and my Z maf in 5 minutes, and tuned it with a a buddy and some data logging pulls, and it was my first time ever in a ECU or tuning...
here's a supplemental video about NIStune.
