ok so the shop i was going to get my tires mounted at is saying how dangerous tire stretching is and how horrible and dangerous bolt on spacers are...im trying to get 18x10 all around on my s14..obviously rolling and pulling fenders. ill be +7 front and -3 rear and i want to wrap them in 235/40/18. im wondering if the guy knows his shit or if hes dumb

He's retarded. 235 on a 10 is fine. My friend stretches a 215 on a 10.5 bolt on spacers are safe also. Regular spacers aren't the safest but bolt on spacers are.

according to tirerack the rim width range for a 235/40R18 is 8-9.5 so i dont see a problem putting it on a 10" rim

yea i know ive seen it, i was just wondering how safe it is, but youve answered that. thanks guys

^haha its an alignment shop but they mount and all that stuff. the guy who told me all that is like this old guy who i guess is unfamiliar with the whole stretching and spacers stuff

Yes, old giizers will assure you that they are the ultimate authority when it comes to motor vehicles. They will tell you that rtv blue, zipties, double sided tape, electrical tape, and atf fluid are all bad and they will make your car blow up.

It's when she puts your 3 year old son in the back seat of a 240 that problems begin to arise. ^

tire shops by my house wouldn't even DISMOUNT my 225's off my 10.5's, think they were just intimidated by the rims and were scared to scratch them... bunch of Hacks, but Estie hooked it up^^
