Time for a SR Build...REbuild???

well i blew my motor today on my way home...downshifted, didnt get on it, only took it too about 9psi and POOOOF! it died in a giant cloud of smoke..sat in the POURING storming rain for over an hour for a flat bed..had to break my bumper in half to get it in the trunk..damn roll cage. tried firing it up at home, did NOT wanna stay running and blowing tons of smoke from every crack, hole and nanny. sooo i started tearing it apart and was so pissed about my baby i wanted to cry :( a friend is coming tommorow with more tools and well take the head off once and see if we can find anything but im looking at prices....damn...:( shit costs too much but well see...
 
yeahhh just kinda sucks, first motor ive blown up :( but i will, ive only got the damn greddy intake mani off which i hate taking off and im also dreading the exhaust mani lol i have the worst luck working on my car
 
yeah, i feel ya man. i might have spare parts (redtop) after im finished with my new one. haven't quite figured out what was wrong with my old one but initially i thought i might have spun a bearing due to failing oil pump. keep us posted
 
damn sorry to hear that man. if i rebuild it, im going aftermarket but nothing crazy, jsut a ver mild build but the motor doesnt piss me off too much but it means im stuck in ohio for even longer, i was gonna head back down to florida next week but now its not going to be for a while :(:( i fail at life right now...epically..

what could it have been? do sr's break alot?

no idea, headgasket seems fine visually from the outside. i dont think they do but i think when they do break its kinda bad but who knows.

you saying that could be a possibility to what happened to mine??
i had someone put new ACL race bearings in not too long ago..unless they put them in weird/wrong. idk, i have no idea whats wrong with my motor
 
yeah i checked all the lines, pipes, intercooler, turbo spindels, gaskets, seals and everythings perfect, if my mom gets back soon then ill use her car and run over toauto store and get a compression tester.

It did kind of run last night when i got it home but it run like shit and died a couple second later.

but get one anyways mayn! i have been messin with the boost lately and ran 20+psi for a few days so thats probly what cuased the problem way in the beginning, theyr good motors and fun. but you gotta remember, im running a big turbo on stock internals but do still have supporting mods...just not good enough mods i guess lol

20 psi... what were you tuned with?

just a enthalpy flashed ecu but i did have them set max boost at 20 or 21..i forget but oh well shit happens :/ but i think there was some boost creep but cylinder number 2 has oil in it so something went wrong hahah but me and a friend are taking the head off tomorrow and running a compression test too jus t to see what numbers come up
