Throttle Cable Length

I know the sohc cable is shorter than the dohc cable. Anyone know roughly how much shorter?

I have a dohc cable on my 1jz and the cable is took long, I have to loop it behind the block.
 
My friend has a sohc cable and is in need of a dohc cable. I dont know the difference in length but if it will work, he would love to trade.
 
sohc cable will be better, but its not that much shorter. remember ur throttle body is on the same side as the cable now, soi ts gonna be longer no matter what. why not just cut it to length?
 
I thought about cutting it to length but a couple of things came up - like making it look good, reattaching the threaded part of it and whatnot. I just need something to take some slack out of it.
