whiterabbit7500 said:i understand freedom of religion/expression/speech. but protesting at the funerls of dead soldiers and calling the military fags should be considered treason IMO. Protesting is perfectly legal, and a normal way to voice your opinions. but when you disrespect the country, and much less its dead and wounded, you should be either shot, hurt, or in jail for a long time. That shit is not cool.
^^hmm..anyone want to go visit kansas? i wanna kick some hillbilly ass
To Whom It may Concern:
I must say that your ministry is interesting to say the least. My father had very similar opinions to those you preach, and still does to this day. I lived through it for 18 years of my life, and am happy to say that I did learn plenty from it, although I believe very little of it. I am writing this to state my beliefs, and hopefully open a discussion about these ideas that you preach for my own knowledge. A little about myself before we begin...
I am a 21 year old college student in Miami, Florida, going to school for Electrical Engineering. I am of Hispanic (Cuban) origin, and was born and raised in the USA. I DO NOT beleive in any specific God, although, by reason, I know there is a higher power. I DO believe that Jesus was a great, and wise man, and respect his beliefs and sacrifice greatly, but I do not believe that he is the son of God, or the messiah. Actually, I believe whole-heartedly that the whole Idea of a messiah is not true. (If you do not wish to read the rest of this letter, simply because of my beliefs, or my "being a fag" as you call it, you do not have to, although I think it would be very immature of you, as I am not being rude to you in any way.) My Father, as I told you above, was VERY heavily into Politics and Religion, and shared MANY of your same views. Come to think of it, he would probably applaud your efforts and beliefs, and probably contact you as well, if he has not done so already. Now, a little about MY beliefs before I move on to my main point of interest.
I DO agree with you that this country is going to hell if this government continues turning the rest of the world against us as they are doing now. I DO NOT believe however, that it is a divine act that was foretold in the Bible.
I DO believe the War in Iraq is wrong, and George W Bush is a corrupt, greedy, ruthless, evil person, and that this war should be stopped right now and our troops brought home. I DO NOT believe that soldiers are "fags" as you call them, and that they deserve to die. I may not agree very much with our government, and their policies, but this is still my country, and I DO have a friend of mine (who is like my brother) who will be finishing Basic Training and probably shipping out to Iraq soon. He doesn't agree with this war either, and shares many of my same views, but unfortunately, his financial and family situation have forced him into the army in order to pay the bills and not be homeless on the street. He has done absolutely nothing wrong, and has enough brains to do what he can to survive and make something of his life. He has done nothing wrong, and is simply trying to get his life back on track.
Now that you know a little about my background and views, I can move onto my reason for contacting you. Before I begin however, let me say that I always go by one piece of scripture when discussing issues like this; "Prove all things; Hold fast that which is good" - I Thessalonians (ch. V, v. 21). In other words, anything I claim, can be backed up by proof. I am not speaking non-sense, and expect any reply to be the same.
I read your article about the loss of Space Shuttle Colombia. I was at Keneddy Space Center the morning of the incident to watch it land. Obviously, that never happend, and it became a major moment in my life. All through High School, I was heavily involved in Aerospace Technology, and still am to this day. I believe there is something divine and almost religious about The Universe and Outer Space, and strongly believe that mankind needs to explore beyonf the Earth's bounds in order to learn more about us as a people.
On your page about the incident, you say that It was a warning to Isreal to seperate itself form The USA and return to God. I am mixed on this idea. First, I believe that the US should seperate itself from Isreal militarily and politically, as It is one of the main reason why we are the most hated nation on Earth, and because of their horrific, and almost genocidal actions towards the Palestinians. Hoever, I do beleive that Isreal as a nation should return to it's core value as a Jewish homeland, but I am not a Jew, so I am in no position to say.
You also state that the Shuttle crashed down to Earth "mysteriously". It has been proven thata heat tile came loose upon launch, and upon re-entry, allowed the molten plasma gas to penetrate the aluminum skin of the Shuttle, thereby causing it to disintegrate. There is nothing mysterious about this. It is a tragic event, unfourtunatly caused by Human Error, as 99% of all Aerospace accidents always are. (This is a proven fact.)
I listened to Pastor Phelps sermon on the issue and it brought up some questions.
First, his use of the word "cowardly" to describe the seven Astronauts. If they were cowards, would they risk their lives, knowing that any number of unknown events could cause their deaths? Are you aware that the space program offers almost no compensation to the familes of those lost on the shuttle? Tell me how they are cowards if they risk their lives, and the well-being of their familes, for the sake of human-kind. Let me ask if any of the members of your congregation would ever venture into Space, not for any nation, religion, or other social/political group, but just for the sake of exploration and knowledge. Aerospace Technology has always been a passion of mine, and I would love to have the chance to even train to go into space, but even I would not take the leap and ride a rocket out of the Earth.
Pastor Phelps also claims that "they held no press conference". Before every Shuttle mission, a press conference is held to announce the Astronauts on the mission, and various more when the time gets closer to launch.
There are various other details I would like to discuss, but for your time and mine, I will not get into them here.
As my Father always quoted, "By their Fruits, you Shall know them." I'm sure you've heard this many more times then I have, and can probably tell me what verse it is in the Bible. But my reaosn for bringing it up is this. If what Jesus said in that line is true, then basd upon your website, you do not know God. "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love" - I John (ch. IV, v.8) I have searched every page on your site, and not found the word "love" once. However, I found the word hate more then 100 times...over 15 one one page. If your website is a true representaion of you, then why is hate mentioned so much, and love not? Isn't compassion and love a central point in the teachings of Jesus?
You also claim that one act of sin denies a person entry to Heaven. Then why does the Bible state;
"And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves. for charity shall cover the multitude of sins." - I Peter (ch. IV, v. 8)
I can get into alot more detail, but I have the feeling this e-mail will not be read, and if It is, then probably only the first paragraph. I would really like the chance to hear your replies and answers to my questions, and have an open discussion about them wiithout name-calling and rudeness. I have tried my best to be as polite, courteous, and respectfull in this letter as I can be, and would appreciate the same in return.
Thank You for your time,

OMG! Yes! That was great. I was thinking the same thing. Jesus never taught anyone to hate anything. He taught people to love.
