Thank you Ter-Tech

just wanted to say thank you to harri and all the guys down there at ter-tech, it was an amazing day, even though 6 people died of heat exhaustion and 26 others are in critical condition lol, deffinitely fun and i really hope we can keep the fdc series alive!!!

honestly the county line events have been better...lol. i probably dont have room to talk but ill put my input anyway.

PBIR sucks.. they should have some kind of overhang or something for shade. There is NOTHING! Couldnt even enjoy the drifting because i was showering in sweat. And not to mention its out in the middle of no where. I think all those reasons added up to why barely anyone was out there spectating. I mean its FDC round 2! There should have been alot more people out there.

Another thing, it seemed so unorganized. Why did the guy on the mic have to keep callin everyone to the staging area? I mean was it what he had to do or was it because no one was ready. The little demo at homestead was better and i thought that event was kind of boring. But it was def more exciting than this event...!? The demo seemed more organized, it was cars after cars sliding, and stayed alot closer to eachother; yeah i know the speeds were alot faster today so maybe it was more dangerous or harder to stay closer together but still.

But anyways... To all the drivers, Good job! Keep practicing and i hope to be out there with you guys one day!

I know ima probably get flamed on this but w/e just my honest opinion, and just wished it would have been a little better.

u also gatta understand they just finished this track and alot of the drivers havent driven this track to be as comfortable as countyline.

Just want to say thankyou Harri and all the people that were involved with running the event yesterday. I had a lot of car trouble and You guys kept pushing time back for me so I ould have a chance to fix my car to run. In spite of everything I had a lot of fun.

stop being a wimp. its hot everywhere no matter where you go in sfl. this event was really good and i enjoyed it very much. and the reason why they had to keep calling ppl is because they were fixing cars and trying to cool down. and the reason why the demo was better is cuz the driver skill was better.

ya people were over heating and from the crazy early ass e-brake entries tires were having to be changed and they simply didnt have time

if 6 people really died, why is that LOL?

lol in all honesty is was no joke the hottest day in the entire history of drift events. But hey, you cant let what you cant control get you down. And countyline is not better than pbir, i think every single driver there loved the track set-up and it was brand new pavement, which meant it was smooth and predictable, and for those of us that went and checked out the rest of the track that was a real treat too.
but we seriously need alot more support, or we are gonna lose fdc. its not free to rent a track guys, and we need people to show up to pay for this stuff

Big thanks to Harri and everybody that help make it happen. BIg ups to the guys that tried to help me figure that entry out. Event was mad fun.

And props to boxmod for being a real man in tandem when garys car was breaking up he stop and waited then they both backed up and ran it again no one does that.

the reason why the demo was better is cuz the driver skill was better.
The driver skill was not better at the demo this is just a much more difficult track!

+1 these guys have put up events since god knows when and with the amount of drivers that showed up why should they even hold another one...ever?

You have no idea what happened did you? First, on the heat issue. As mentioned, it's hot everywhere. Tell me where you'll not bake at Countyline on the same day.

As far as unorganized, again, maybe from the spectators eyes, because you kept seeing cars come and go at Homestead, but Ter-Tech did a very good job at PBIR keeping it organized to their schedule.

There was a staging and a pre-staging area, which was to keep drivers ready and ensure that everything would keep going smoothly, hence why there were so many calls on the PA. Drivers might have been the ones that held back some, but again, who wants to be working on their cars in scorching heat?

Hell, most of the pro drivers weren't even enthusiastic about driving with their race suits, strapped in their cars in the unbearable heat.

and the reason why the demo was better is cuz the driver skill was better.

Hahaha lol, no. Not even remotely close.

My view: Aside from spectator turnout and the scorching heat, everything was awesome. Spectator turnout was horrible but due to the heat, maybe it really is time to consider an off-season.... or do as Countyline does and host night events.

Thank you Ter-Tech once again for hosting the FDC and organizing an event at PBIR. I loved the opportunity to drive there, even if my car sucks.

k then i take back that statement and yes night event would be better the only bad part would be the bugs. i heard some rumors of one possibly taking place at night at pbir but those are just rumors. btw keep a look out in the media section cuz i will be posting up some raw footage of the event

PBIR (moroso) has never really had structures for shade, but neither does Countyline. It was just a freakishly hot day. It happens, you live in Florida. If the heat bothers you, you have the right to be prepared and bring an umbrella to provide your own shade. You think you were hot!! You weren’t a driver wearing a full fire suit sitting in a mobile self heating oven most of the day!

PBIR has also always been out there. That has never stopped it from cramming 20,000+ spectators though its grounds for a "well advertised" 2day weekend event. I have been going out there for all different things quite often. That place can be so packed that you can’t even walk. But those events are heavily advertised using PBIR's full add campaign which uses radio adds, fliers everywhere in fast-food restaurants and supporting performance shops, E-mail advertisings, and onsite self promoting plus more. Other than the fliers that I know Harri and myself handed out and all of the promoting I could do on every forum and website I could, I only heard of one add from PBIR and it was on Friday and possibly sat on wild 95.5... How are a bunch of 13 yearold's (95.5's main audience) going to come out and support the event?!? The "Mustang Challenge" and "Beat The Heat" was well advertised and look at all the people showing up as we were leaving. But that is another issue I shouldn’t get into but I'll put money that, that had a good part of it.

Harri has been doing this for god knows how long. He knows how to run things. He ran the D1GP Miami event. That went great on top of the fact that half of the drivers didn’t speak English and he had to have people translating everything. So, it was not the fact that the Ter-Tech staff was unorganized; it was some of the drivers. There were a good amount of drivers that had there cars up in staging ready to go within minutes of being called. A good amount of those drivers also attended the D1 event where that promptness was mandatory and I was happy to see that respect run over into this event as well. That and a few other things really separated the drivers and crews that run a professional setup and the others that are not up to par with what was being asked of them. So yes multiple callings for divers were due to some of them taking there time I guess you could say. They had a loud speaker system there was no reason not to hear them call you. There were also some setbacks, crashes, and on track car issues (myself included) that make things run behind schedule. It happens and they try to make up the time the best they can which sometimes means changing things around.

As for the driving. Driving at the demo and this event I would have to say that demo was much more care free day where it was if you want to drive go drive, go put on a show. The key word is show. This event was being judged where you have a technical line to run and certain things you must do for max points. If the car your tandeming with is not on the line why would you risk your score just to get closer. Just run as close as you can and hold your line because you’re getting judged. It’s different when you can just follow wherever the lead car is going because it doesn’t matter where you are on the track. That’s my opinion on that. I think there was alot of great driving out there and hats off to the drivers for really pushing the limits of there cars and the track especially seeing how most of them have never driven it before!

Finally, yes it could have been better.... More spectators could have shown up. I am very happy that you came out and supported the event so none of this is for you.

It seems like ever since there as been more online media coverage of the events less people have been going because why go if I can sit at home for free and look at pics. I'm not upset with the media guys at all. I'm happy that you come out and cover the events and give us great shots of us on the track. I just wish the spectators would come out. This event has been posted for months and it’s was $15 to get in plus gas from where your coming from. So many people scream for media the next day yet they wont even think about coming out to see it in person. Guess what if you don’t come to the events to watch, there’s going to be fewer and fewer events. The insurances to run these events are in the thousands and the driver entry fees don’t always cover it. That’s just the insurance, that doesn’t include track rental, equipment rental and other misc cost to host the events. The money generated from spectators is the only source of money to cover the cost and hopefully make some profit to put on the next event. So every time someone thinks about going and says "naw I'll just wait for the media to come out", you are personally putting another nail in the coffin of this sport locally. It takes everyone’s support the drivers and spectators to keep these events going. I have been doing my part and you need to do yours.

Thank you to the people that did come out. I hope you enjoyed the show! Thank you to the drivers that drove from near and far to compete in the oven like conditions!
Thank you to Ter-Tech for giving us another great event!

will im still pissed ur car broke i realy wanted to see who would advance sry u got screwd When i ran that run i didnt even see your car there i got back to the line and i was like wheres will and you dad said tie rod and i looked down the track then i saw your car i drove right past you and didnt notice.

I know ima probably get flamed on this but w/e just my honest opinion, and just wished it would have been a little better.

First off, if you have never competed in tandem.... getting close is HARD. You have to have confidence in the lead driver to get close on entry or you are fighting to reel them in later. The long run up/high speed also made it REALLY hard since no pair of cars was similar powered. Closest was maybe Charlie and me? other than that it was a heavy difference in power, and during the run up, you would get space as you 'drag race' to the entry.

the DEMO tandem you WANT to let the other guy be close for fun, so you try to stay together on entry, not try to make space. Tandem competition, space usually will give you advantage or make the other person OVER DRIVE it to try to catch up and make a mistake. And you dont follow someone on a bad line in competition, as was said before.

The announcements was over and over because drivers were a little slow to get to the starting grid. BUT BUT BUT! There is normally more time between your run sets. People were getting tires mounted, fixing car issues, and trying to cool down on the BLACKTOP pit area, in the non stop sun (no clouds), with no wind. Drivers 100% of the time do their own work on the car at the track and maybe are lucky enough to have a helping hand. That is a lot of work by itself, and like others said, pros were in 3 layer fire suits.

***

Good side of things was that some new drivers got a taste of what higher speed entry feels like. I see a lot of people on here talk about 4th gear this and that and how they want to go as fast as possible... then you go do this where 4th gear wasn't even needed and see how crazy it gets.

A Night event would be awesome, and harri has had them there before, so we will see.

Ter-Tech and all the STAFF and VOLUNTEERS did a GREAT job putting up with the conditions and the drivers.

Th worst part of the event to me, wasnt the heat, its the crappy view drivers get from the starting line! We couldnt see anyones runs, or the tandem battles. I love watching all that and I hope there is vids of everyone.

CONGRATS to the newly licensed drivers, Chris Jackson, Sean McQueen and Sean Casey.... Seans represent?

Sad face of the day award goes to Matt Dahm :( I didnt even know he crashed and sorry to hear that.

Thumbs Up to Raffi for not dying. Scared the hell out of us bro, glad you cooled off and felt better.

Good job to all drivers!

^^ yeah i was surprised to see that they let you go with him stuck on the track..

man the event was great!! a lot more drifting could have gotten accomplished though. there was a lot of waiting but hey, its understandable as to why that happened. hell you all had to wait like 15minutes for me. (TY erick and mike, my tire crew!!)

now, the track surface is awesome on tires!! The HEAT, you would have cooked on countyline, moroso or at the beach.. bring an umbrella ella next time biznotch :bigthumbu

My wording would be a little different for thanking Ter-Tech and the crew and friends/family that helped out yesterday. I have never, ever felt the way i felt yesterday exiting the practice runs in the morning. It was a very scary feeling in the car exiting the track not being able to breath and my eyes rolling in the back of my head.

Thank you for the people that cared enough to stay around and help me get carried into the A/C tent which i do not recall and thank you for Ter-Tech/PBIR/WPMedics for arriving on the scene quickly and taking care of my heat stroke and breathing issues. I swear i felt i was about to die yesterday getting out of the race car and trying to take breathes of air. Thank you Ryan for being next to me and the photographer that helped out as well...sorry bro didn't catch your name! Thanks again!

Thank you goes to Anti, Jim, Mario, Harri and the staff from Ter-Tech for asking me how I was doing all day after the incident...Thank you to all the drivers/friends that were there for me! I swear i wish i drove with all of you guys yesteday and its a bummer this had to happen. I hope Rnd 3 is strong in the making and I will definitely play with you boys till next time!

Thanks again Harri for the oppurtunity for the FDC events and to all drivers yesterday, I watched all the runs...great driving! The weather/heat sucked dick but hey we live in HELL!! hahaa

till next time....and thanks again to everyone

jason J is

Yea I was upset too! I was really looking foward to it seeing how it would be the first time running with you. But its all good and you made it pretty far so no worries:bigthumbu

Yes, I did forget to mention those situations. Thanks for adding that.

school car is the greatest thing EVER!!!
Thankyou so much Harri, and Shant for letting me share the car.
Jason J, seriously, that was manly as fuck to wait for Gary. You easily could have just hauled ass and said fuck it, but you manned up and waited for him, fucking awesome.
I think the closest powered pair was me and the Fish.
Im pretty much gonna hate driving my car again until I get a hydro e-brake and crazy angle mod.
PBIR is awesome.
