Ter-Tech thanks everyone for coming!!!!

It seems like a lot of us were having tire problems! I talked to a buddy in the tire industry and found out those michelin's I was using were total crap and had 3 differen't tread compounds - which is why I ripped off the innter patches. I thought pilot = good but apparently the AS at the end made it complete garbage. Once again, the RS2's were where it was at, its just too bad I didn't put em on earlier. As Mikespeed said, reverse stagger FTL but in this case it would have been win!!2

And speaking of earlier, how bout we get a man entry on the next course so we can practice some baller early entries. There was definitely space and there's obviously a demand. PLEASE!!!

Oh yeah, I mentioned this on Floridafail but I'll post it here too. There was a lot of time wasted in the first half of the day but the second half of the day went very smoothly. I think the silly drive around the course at the start of each run group had A LOT to do with it. Each time you did it, it took about 20+ minutes. Here's some suggestions to get things running smoother:
1. next time, especially if the EMT doesn't show up, have the drivers do a course walk first thing in the morning instead. We all sat around for an hour+ with nothing to do.
2. don't get out of the car on the course to tell each individual driver to "stop drifting here". The end of the track was clearly marked with the extra cones. instead, maybe have the flag guy (ron) tell the driver that while they're staging. I think that was the biggest time killer - bar none.

I know we only had 4 runs after the first set of heats, but one run from 10 drivers on a cone course doesn't take up much time at all. You could have had 5 runs for each group all day if the course drive was done more efficiently IMO.

So anyway...when's the next one???? :D

thanks Ter tech for a kick ass event. Had a lot of much needed fun, cant wait for the next one. Thanks to Estie for changing my tires, thanks Bladder for the pics, thanks to my culture for the water. and thanks to all of you who came out to support us, it was a great track lay out good enough for the low powered guys.

Just watched the video and timed the drive thru lap with the speach it took full 3-4min. times 5 so yes max total 20 min, not quite the 1,5 hours you are saying

The amount of runs wasn't as many as I would have liked thats why next event we'll more than likely drop the driver number to 40. Also the insurance company we use is not the same as DGtrials and all the others use, So having two cars at the track at the same time was out of question,( which they are not supposed to do also) maybe we will option the more expensive insurance that allows tandem for the next event, but if we do that it will cost more to enter, so remains to be seen.

I like it as it is.... for now I think there's a big demand for parking lot events at reasonable prices. Driver's seat time could be improved with better layouts.

My main thought is that what cost the most time was the fact that the entrance to the track was also the exit... it was a good 5 seconds wasted while one car came back in for the other one to go out.

The later portion after the 5pm driver's meet wasnt very well coordinated in my opinion, but then we were sliding on your dime Harri, so I was greatful enough for being able to keep going out there.

Hey, I didn't just kick you in the nutts, I'm just trying to help by pointing out a problem. I was standing next to Ron for almost 10 minutes just waiting for you to show up at the start of one run group. I think it was D or E. Everybody was running around saying "where's Harri?" When you did show up, it took at least another 10 minutes for the entire ordeal to be over with - not just the drive around. But OK, you're right again - about everything - always. :bigthumbu

Why not start your own thread ? It seems like you were the only one who was just upset about everything. You didn't even say bye to anyone, you just left.

Yea some of the more advanced guys would have liked some 3rd gear somewhere on the course..... well guess what, it looked like most of the people had a hard enough time linking the 2nd gear course. Plus a lot of the drivers at this event were first timers and the layout worked pretty good for helping them develop.

And the course was a 6 turn layout, or 7 if you count the back as a double-apex.

A lot better than the average 3 turn ghey driftrace layout.

WFT? I'm not upset about everything. I thought having one group run before 12:20 was a little crazy considering the nature of this event - and it is. And why should I run around to find everyone to say bye? I see you guys all the time. Justin didn't say bye to me but I'm not acting like a little bitch about it. Hannu didn't even show up, is he the Devil now? Shit. I'm suggesting ways to make things better, sorry that in your infinite wisdom and internet communication skillz you fail to realize that.

As for the course itself, I was not the only one that wanted a bigger entry. Linking the course and a fast entry are two different things btw. I think most of south Florida has the skill to handle a big entry, sorry you don't. As for the first timers thing, every event will have first timers. Does that mean every event should be slow so we can help them develop while in the process, hinder the further development of the better drivers? Besides, who's been going to events longer and will continue to go to events in the future? Ding ding ding genius, the advanced guys.

damn the lawyers! yea well the dumb part was that when they were waiting for harri to lead them around, anyone that knew the course could have done it. but oh well, the best way to remedy that is to have one giant walkthrough/drivers meeting at like 730/8am. if you miss it you have to talk to harri then and he will kick your ass, then let u try to drive with a swollen eye and jaw and a broken leg/arm (harri will give you the option) lol.

Which is all I was saying but some people's sarcasm meters were off. I guess the :bigthumbu wasn't a dead enough give away.

DriftRace layouts FTL!!!!

hopefully next event I can make it in one piece and have a halfway working motor

Event rocked fashizzles!

Let me add to your rants :bigthumbu everyone and their momma can do 3rd gear crap now a days thanks to the lovely OSW events.. and those that cant, well.. dont have the power/self esteem. We need some JDM tight 2nd to 1st gear dorifuto turns to teach people how to down shift while sliding :bigthumbu :bigthumbu

3rd gear entry does not = a fag oval turn. With a proper decreasing radius sweeper, one can enter (early) in 3rd and downshift to 2nd. Downshifting to 1st mean sub 15mph speed which, on my drift-ulator equals, FAIL.

Idk about your transmission but most can shift down to 1st from 0-29mph and some even higher. I'm down for a 3rd gear entry to 2nd, but I still rather see people practice the tighter shit than big huge wide open throttle turns. You gotta learn to walk before you can run, and judging by the event groups, there are a lot of people that are paraplegic.

It's just wishful thinking.. I don't think the Ter-Tech BMW has a 1st gear
