TER-TECH EVENT IN HIALEAH SUNDAY, JULY 31st

that was a pretty entertaining event. too bad that huge *** concrete wall was hungry all day long. I left after the first round of the GTS hb right before his crash...he a member of this board?

since this is turning into a "find new drift spot thread" i'm going to search for a few other tracks and maybe private parking lots then make some recomendations...just maybe 'cause sometimes they're in use during the day or too close to the street or shops, watever (ex sunrise & 441 = MONEY! but it'll never happen)

DONT STREET DRIFT!!!......too much

:D

The fault is obviously the driver's, the whole conversation is how Ter-Tech should do something that would not lead the driver to commit that mistake.

Take DGTrials for instance. It's obvious something happened at some point in time for the guys to say you're not allowed to choki the straightaway. They are trying to cover their asses for something worse, because if their *** wasnt on the line, they wouldnt care.

Ter-Tech has been pretty cool and they never imposed too many restrictions. It worked really well but at some point in time it'll get out of hand, like it seems this past weekend. New actions should definetly be taken by Ter-Tech, all I ask for is that they spare those who have been there and are qualified enough to hold their own.

Hold on there a minute. I'm not saying the three lugnuts caused the accident. But what if that were the case? You guys could be in some trouble. That is why I brought that up. Now I don't know if he started of the day with all four lugnuts, but don't you think that once in awhile through out the day you should glance over these cars to see if anything has changed? But correct me if you do this already...I don't know.

And since you asked about the other cars that should have failed tech...I will tell you. I'm not sure if you noticed but when santi goes out and starts to put any type of steering angle into the car the front wheel would just shake back and forth. Now I don't know if that was a result of the wreck, because I only noticed it after that had happened, or if it was like that since the start of the day. Now is that safe? And I can see santi is a great driver, he can adapt to changes very well, but what more important....putting on a good show, or the safety of everyone involved?

I'm just letting you know of some things I witnessed that I believed were unsafe. And maybe I'm completely wrong with everything I said. Maybe you guys do everything in your power to make these event safe, but there's always room for improvement...don't you think.

For everyone else, instead of making fun, and flaming everyone else for there own observations on the event, and ways to improve it, why not give ideas to make these events more safe. And ways to keep the unexperienced off the difficult parts of the track. Like the thoughts provided by rwdrift. Who knows maybe ter-tech will pick up on some of these ideas.

I dont want someone telling me what I can and cant practice at a drift clinic. I never exceed my skills, but I do push them from time to time. Its how we progress and become better. It took me 4 runs to get on the big turn, and even them I didnt try to hit the ENTIRE turn, I took it in 2 parts (just the curve)

Ter-tech has done an incredible job so far in holding events for us. This was only my 2nd track event, and I loved it. The last thing I want is coming back to the line and having someone tell me "you arent allowed to do that because you arent that skilled yet" Its like a slap in the face. I would accept it more if that person pulled me aside and told me what I should be doing in order to improve my driving.

This is the nature of the game, people crash and cars suffer. People learn from mistakes, and make the choice to either drive for themselves or the spectators. The true enthusiasts will be the ones attending each and every event they can make.

I hope this didnt sound too harsh, but I would hate to see the drift scene crumble in SFL. We have so many amazing drivers here.

I was kinda sorta flaming you because it looked as if you were half *** looking outside of the box. I've made my car pass tech and then alter it after I had passed tech....thats MY problem.

First of all Santi is Ter-tech sponsored driver I personally build his car. His car doesn't have any mechanical flaws. You honestly think that he went back out without us checking the car??? Second all the drivers sign a waiver, we cannot be reliably of his/hers accident. We do the technical inspection as a safety inspection for the drivers, it is NOT required to be done at all. there for you or anybody else cannot hold anybody but your own *** responsible. Even if you take of your wheels off completely and somehow pass the tent It is YOU who is trying to cheat us. we don't have to do any inspections for you or any of the drivers. sameway as in stock racing the cars won't be inspected at all until you have won the race, they check wheter you cheated or not. I don't understand why are you trying to protect people who are trying to cheat the inspection by lying or not telling what they know could cause them to not pass the inspection??
Look at me I passed the inspection with only 3 lug nuts I'm cool. Even that he had all the lugnuts in the beginning of the day. When he changed tires it must have happened.

If you are incabable of checking your own car stay home or look at the practise behind the fence. Because we cannot babysit you all the time every minute of the day. The sooner you realize this the better.
If the driver doesn't know his limits we are forced to step in and tell him that you are not to try the big turn, till you prove us wrong. We are more than happy to instruct any of the drivers at any given time, but since most are too proud to ask for instructions or think that they are the best drivers out here I don't need help I'll just do the big turn myself. Should we forcefully get in the car and instruct them against their will????

Practises are to improve your drifting skills not to prove your friends that I can do the big turn.

Sincerely

Harri Tervola
Ter-Tech inc.

Ps. I like some of the ideas that I see and you will see them to be forced at the next event.

you obviously dont drift. or have never hit full counter at speed.i'll say this and i'll say it once .dont ever assume something is wrong with my car. if there is something wrong it will immediatly be addressed by someone on the team. the dent in the car is anaccident.. not stupidity. it did NOT affect my cars handling.i checked the lugs tie rods and for fluid leakage.

Hopefully the advanced guys dont take a huge loss in this.

No one will take a huge loss it's just that some of the drivers need to start acting more professional and stop playing around. like doing donuts at the parking lot, steering with your knee, trying to show off, not have the helmet or seatbelt on when its your turn etc....
And if you need a babysitter you will be thrown out !

THE END

Amen to that, if you want to get big guys you have to act PROFESSIONAL. that means following comon sense rules and event rules. If your still learning, don't try and show off, wait until your sponsored and in formula D to show off. Till then Drift Right and slide happy.

I personally cannot believe how many times I have to tell SOME of the drivers to put their helmets on, sit in their cars, not do donuts over and over again, or to not create their own course/freestyle drift the track. Acting like children means being treated like children. Hopefully some of you learned a lesson from this event and won't have to be watched over like babies at the next event, but if you do, rest assured that I will take great enjoyment in kicking you off the track and watching you cry your way home. :p

PS - BUY (PROPER) HELMETS ALREADY!!!!

And another thing........... who the **** let the minivan on the track????? If this keeps going on I am protesting, and never drifting again. Damn crazy guys with their funny accents think they rule the world.

.................... I love you Ter-Tech. I will be at the next event for sure, you all throw one hell of a party.

why is everyone complaining all of a sudden? as far as I can remember Ter-Tech only did real TECH SPEC like 3 times out of like 10. So why is that you want to start crying about **** like that now? Where were you last event, and the one before, and then before that too. If you come to the track with improper equipment, you should mann up and face the consequences that can happen. Stop CRYING WAH WAH WAH! And stop letting people go twice around the track in one run, I was getting angry dammit.

I agree with Dan. People should not expect Ter-Tech to feed food in your mouth. Every driver should be responsible enough to take care of his own safety, or pay the consequences.
