FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A 15-year-old Fort Lauderdale teen is facing felony charges after punching a police officer and the incident was caught on surveillance video.

Jordan Christian is charged with battery on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence.

Fort Lauderdale police said on Tuesday afternoon two officers responded to a 911 call about people dealing drugs at a convenience store on Northwest 19th Street.

Eight-year veteran Officer Margaret Rose entered the store and confronted Christian.

A scuffle broke out and Rose tried to mace the teen. The tape shows Christian punching the officer in the face.

Rose fell down and hit her head on the floor, knocking her unconscious.

"Any time a person intentionally strikes a law enforcement officer we take it very seriously," said Kathy Collins, public information officer for Fort Lauderdale police. "It's a felony. It's a very brazen act. It's not tolerated."

Christian was not arrested at the scene. Fort Lauderdale police said Christian's mother brought her son to the police department and turned him in.

Rose was treated at Holy Cross Hospital and released.

"She's good. She's at home at this point. She's recovering from her injuries. She has some facial bruising and some lacerations to the back of her head," Collins said.

Christian is already on probation and will likely be held in detention until his trial begins.

"Veteran cop..." still got knocked the **** out. That's what you get when you rely on mace.

I'm not defending the kid, but I do give him props in certain aspects.
 
yea they do also have other nonlethal elements such as a baton to the back of the leg, or the infamous bean bag.

I think if I was a cop I would be bean bagging everyone...lmao!
 
then you wonder why are the police so uptight and agresive whenever they confront people... if i was a police officer i would never take chances on being too nice 'cause **** like this always happens...but sometimes police can be too agresive and people get beat up.

hahaha she got her *** beat, if it were him hitting someone else it wouldnt be so "serious" but since shes an "officer" it becomes a felony, and look how they make it all dromatic with all the " shes recoverying now after being in the hospital" damn a punch from a 15 year old knocked her the **** out that bad?
 
...and now shes gonna take like 999999 days off work that we pay for for her getting TKO'd, and man that kid is pretty big, jesus, good for him, i hate cops....and i bet he does too. Now hes screwed tho, sux for him, y would u not stop seeling drugs or w/e....on probatioon....in front of a store.....-_-'...no0b
 
because hes ghetto...if you dont do it in front of the liquor store where else will you do it? the strip club??
