Drifting is here to stay, we are going to continue on our 2012 drifting schedule as normal with included Summer Drift Nights as posted above.
One issue is that people in the near by residential communities have been sending noise complaints to the city claiming it's the noise from drag racing going on at our track. But the other is majorly a zoning issue regarding the tracks exemption that was given to us from the county when the track was first opened three years ago, drifting, autocross, and time-attack were covered under this exemption, however drag racing was not, thus the current suspension until final approval of the county in August.
Drag racing helps drifting in a way, without it, you'd probably never of heard of CFRC, and continuing to operate the track without drag racing could put drifting at risk- it's unlikely, but it is still a possibility.
So just do us a quick favor and send out a quick email to those county representatives voicing your opinion and exercising your right to freedom of speech.
