Sucks for GTR Owners

Chrysler product is crap speaking from experience and as far as I am concerned the Camaro>Challenger, plus the fact that the Camaro actually offers a 6 speed manual and the challenger doesn't.

I am not saying that the New challenger is fodder but it really doesn't get the blood flowing compared to the Camaro.

As far as the tranny issue is Nissan will make it right I hope and as far as that guy goes on NAGTROC he is a complete momo for being stupid.

m a little lost here, cause theres a GT-R nutswinger on a nother board, and according to him, there is no acutal launch control, its just something all the journalists discovered with the VDC being turned off.

still a super car should be able to handle the abuse

You can show him this video where John Weiner, director of product planning for Nissan cars, states that they "offer a launch mode in this car".

YouTube - Jay Leno's Garage GT-R Review

Ive seen what you have to do - its a series of button presses and holding down a pedal and blah blah - its not exactly flipping a switch. I totally see the pt you're making but its not in the manual and it is obviously abusive. i think the root problem is the seemingly weak transmission.

You're right. I looked over the manual and found no mention of the "Launch Control". And I finally found the article that I've been meaning to post in regards to the transmission:

However, tuners are beginning to question how the stock gearbox will hold up under the strain of additional output. MCR, which brought out its GT-R for filming of Hot Version 93, has been exacting its own brand of punishment on its tuned GT-R and is worried how long the transmission will last. It's not clear if the tranny woes are due to the clutch plates or something else, but it's been all but confirmed that dual-clutch gearboxes have an issue with additional torque since the friction surface is much smaller than on a stock (read: single plate) clutch. MCR's best guesstimate is that the stock 'box might only be able to hold up to the additional power for 12 months before problems begin arise. Now, we're particularly interested in how Nissan is beefing up the tranny on the V-Spec to handle its rumored 600 hp.

Its funny that i saw this last night cuz today i saw two GTR's lol...lmao with a bunch of my friends, they were all like omg look a gtr omg omg, and then i told them about the tranny problem and they completely changed their look on the GTR...i still thinks it looks nice, but it just shouldnt blow a tranny stock! Not with all this technology!!!

ZR1>GTR I'm starting to accept that fact

Wow, so they cracked the ECU. The math they were running makes the Possibilities insane.

Also Guys check this out, I guess that guy in the OP was just an idiot lol

I also read this on ^ that link:

Posted by Scarface:
I just spoke to my nissan dealer in Barcelona, Spain in Europe. He personally rang Nissan Europe and they stated,
"There is no limit to launch control" and there is "NO void of WARRANTY if we use launch control"
They also have stated that launch control has been used continually on their test GTR at the Nurgburgring and no problems were reported.
I told them what I had read on this forum and the news that was arriving from the U.S regarding warranty and launch control, and was told not to worry.
*******NISSAN EUROPE COVERS TRANSMISSION FAILIURE DUE TO LAUNCH CONTROL AND CLAIM THAT IT IS A FEATURE OF THE CAR.**********

Interesting....

Nissan is not the only one with transmission problems and Vettes (POS) are full manual transmissions, granted there forums, but you CANT totally blame only the vehicle manufactors, ANY car you beat the shit out of WILL break. Now stating that I do not like the fact that nissan stated all these numbers and only being able to use this function 2-3times a transmission replacement, reguardless the buyer has signed the papers knowing that this function cannot be used too much or it will void the warrantys, 480 to 4 wheels NO transmission will last very long, thats bullshit. Now you cant also think that ANY sports car owner dose not beat his car at all.

This is why Ferarri OWNS ANYthing built YAY.!!
