My stop light or brake lights always on after puting a brand new batery. This started this morning and I had to pull the fuse out so I can keep them off.Any IDEAS why they are on or any tips to troubleshoot this problem?

that is happenin with my hachi too.... check ur brake light switch that is engaged by your brake pedal, perhaps there is some way of adjusting it... Id say run a test light on those wires, but goin into specifics, im not sure cuz im learning myself, thats as far as i have gotten. if anyone can go more in depth, go ahead

also there is a litle hole in the brake pedal make sure it has a little plastic door panel clip inside of it or the brake lights will never shut off. it happend to me when i first got it my 240 like 3 years ago and i put that little body clip in. its just so that the switch closes and the lights go out. if you have 2 go buy one i think there like 20cents.

Answer To The Problem

There Is A Little Platic Clip Behind The Brake Pedal, That Breaks After A While Get You One From Nissan They Are About A $1.00 Or So. Put It Back On And You Are Good To Go.!!

haha that happened to me too with my acura...check on the brake pedal sometimes either the brake switch is bad or the actual tab on the pedal bar simply broke off...

in my case the tab broke off and nothing more than a quick run to dealership and $3 later the brakes were fixed.

OKAY found the problem.it's the little piece of rubber from the back of the brake pedal is broken.going to the Nissan dealer to buy this piece.any idea the right name for this piece??Thanks for all the help..

i dont know exactly what they call it just explain to the parts guy what it is...he should know that!!! it seems to be a very common problem in cars...either from letting the pedal go or from shoving a foot too high up under there...it happens

just tell em the little thing that goes on the pedal to make the lights go off.
