OK the rear suspension on my damn S14 has been creaking and clanking and squeaking for the past 4 or 5 months...its finally started to drive me crazy and im about to fucking lose it. Especially when im driving thru a parking garage at school everyday and that shit is so loud it fkn echoes and ppl look at me like im driving a Model T. I even took off my exhaust so the sound would be drowned out by my open dump but i can still hear it its so annoyingly loud!! I have NO IDEA where its coming from exactly, just its from the rear suspension mostly from the drivers side but both sides make sounds. I have second hand Eibach Potenza coilovers and SPL camber arms. I DROWNED everything, every arm, every bolt on the rear subframe in WD40 (i used a whole can!) still creaks. I even removed my rear sway bar thinking that maybe it was the polyurethane bushings making the sound...still WRONG. Anyone have a clue as what it could be??? i dont want to start taking apart everything w/o knowing whats causing the sound cause then i wont know what to fix/replace and itll be a waste of time and effort. HELP!

/rant btw

look for rust around bolt heads, tell tale sign of moving suspension parts...

loose bolts? blown shocks ?

hmmm the bolts seem tight, ill check to see their all torqued down today, looking again today i noticed the rounded end of my camber arm that the subframe bolt goes thru is at a odd angle i think it may be one of the causes, but not sure what i do about it seems like it just sits like that. Shocks feel nice n stiff so thank goodness they're alright lol

Do you have a bushing kit installed, like the energy suspension urethane bushings? They need to be relubed every once in a while - my front arms do the same thing, it's driving me crazy.

it might be the spl arms, these arms dont have bushings and they are not meant to be oiled or greased like that, they have a bearing and greasing it will only trap dust and dirt into the bearing, they sell special lube for those bearings, thats my guess....

in juans car EVERYTHIN sounds, cus he has all the solid arms. no bushings.
so im guessing is that. also your coilover makes noise sometimes, mine squeeks a lil every now and then.
That dosnt mean is blown. but u might wana look into it, try lifting the car , take the wheel off, and move the whole axle with arms and all with a jack under the lca, see when you compress it if it makes a noice, and where....

yea thats why i first thought it was my sway bar since i had replaced all the bushings w/ polyurethane ones, i took it off relubed everything and put it back still creaked so i just took it off all together.

i think you sir are correct i think its the camber arm bearings, im gonna try what you said and jack up the arm with the wheel off to see where its coming from for sure.

you have a welded diff? Subframe bushings normally shot making noise if your on a open diff or axles click clack

i have a VLSD, the sound comes when the car is not only moving (going over bumps) but also when i sit in it or just push down hard on the trunk, so i dont think its my diff or axles... i hope

If you have any kind of bearings or ball joints in the suspension, hey sometimes cause noise when they go bad. Also, check all the clearances, check and see if there are any suspsension parts rubbing or hitting each other.
