standalone hyrdo ebrake??

soo i might go with one of the CNC staging/hand brakes since it comes with a resivoir then making steel braided lines and then thinking about making brackets and running seperate brake calipers. I havnt look around much online but it doesnt seem like many people are using seperate calipers. idk i think it would be badass but what do you guys think?

Can you fabricate a separate bracket for a 2nd brake caliper? If so, by all means. Just make sure to use awesome brake pads to it actually locks.

You can do it but you need to machine another brake caliper bracket (and make it bolt on or weld it on to the spindle, space it out according to the rotor and make new brake line to the handbrake). Rhys Millen and others use it, mercedes come with them stock on some models. Or stay tuned, Avant Garde Racing is comming out with a solution soon.

yeah actually after having installed my in line hydro ebrake I want to convert to a separate caliper setup for it, since Bleeding it is a bitch plus the wacko interference with the rear brakes. I have bled it out about 8-9 times now and its still squishy and doesnt lock like it should.

most all of the top pro level cars run separate systems

yeah, i already have the desgins drawed out and im taking measurements tomorrow, i might actually get started with fabricating the brackets tomorrow, depends how much time i have but ive already thought everything through and thought of everything that could go wrong and made solutions.

im thinking about using custom calipers from CNC or use rear calipers from an s14 but i have a lot of stuff to do before i start but i have no patience lol ill start making a bracket for shits an gigggles tom.

the Ferrari 360's also have other calipers i beleive?

yea the 360s have em, what gave me the idea to for mine when i get there....i was looking for small calipers like that but then thought less surface to grip the rotor so im prob gunna use my stock s13 caliper when i do 300zx and 5lug....

yeah, i already have the 300zx and 5lug, im looking for some s13 calipers but cant find any so i might use my friends just for fitting purposes but im worried that caliper ont fit the thickness of the z32 rotor, if it doesnt ill try the front calipers

hmm is the thickness of a 300zx rotor different in the rear as appose to the rear rotor of a s13/14? i havent looked that far into it, but if u have issues with fitment let me know so i can throw that idea out the window lol

i dont really know actually but im pretty sure it would be thicker then an s13 rotor but not too sure about the s14 rotor, my best guess right now would be that the s14 caliper would be more likely to fit then the s13 caliper but ill let you know

Just hit me up when you get back here. We (AvantGardeRacing) are comming out with a solution very soon. But if you don't want to wait, can help you do your brackets. We've made caliper brackets many times already.

Yea its pretty easy to fabricate as long as you have a good grasp of fabrication and the the project at hand. Well... and obviously the tools as well. Here is a link to the sfld forum page on the setup I make for my car of which I used the CNC and love it to death. If you need one let me know because one of my sponcers is a distributor for a company that sells them.

Enjoy

SICK!
exactly what i wanna do, same damn thing! lol
im just waiting on th money from my bike so i can start this

so i was looking aaround and i think im just going to go with another set of z32 rear calipers so i know they will fit the rotor
