SR20det VS RB20det

$1500+ is not close to me. Not to mention the fact that you'll also need an RB25 transmission and a RB motor/transmission mount kit.

True true, Damn im talking as if we all have big stacks in our pockets. Rumors from people say the SR's Are better or the Rb's or even Single-Cams but what i want to know too is what is really the real deal here.

Na SOHC KA. if your good you can ball out with this motor. suan and ayes kill shit in ka's. just my two cents no point in swaping in more power if you can't control it.

ca is nice....but parts are a bitch and a half....

for the person who said since the ka makes 15 more hp than a sr20de....it will make more power on boost.....thats retarded...

for ex. b-series vs an h-series

people seen about 1200 hp on a b series.....where as h's really only touch about 8ish iirc

h's make more on usual occasions stock for stock

stay KA, i kill shit with my KA all the time, like POSSOMS and shit.... i just cant control my KA when it decides to go sidewayzzzz, ask MANFRED..... instead of an engine spend money on suspension, because good suspension setup = fun as fuck to drive...

yeah robs car owns......super duper fun being able to smash the gas and go

Yea but when you go out for highway races you will want POWER!!
I love my suspension and love slicing on ramp/offramps but I just got owned by a AWD Volvo on Sat and we were going full throttle on the highway. Needless to say power becomes more fun.

I spanked a freinds sr hatch. He also had a fmic. I'm stock with just a smic. Rb20det isn't that bad. It's just not the best for drifting...It is front heavy but nothing you can't fix with some adjustable coilovers. I ran a 14.08 @ 99mph in a stock rb20 hatch...

sr20det- lighter, more expensive, around 200hp stock, easy swap, 4cyl
rb20det- little heavy, cheap as fuck, around 200hp stock, somewhat easy swap, 6cyl

I'm not a huge import guy so I hate 4 bangers either way. If I were to do this again I'd swap an rb25, or just go all out and ls1 swap...
Sr-ultra easy swap, 4 banger gayness... J/k
rb-need r32 k-member, some people believe you get more torque with the rb20, I had more torque with the ka...
I'd also like to add that parts for an rb are not hard to find.I have an extra turbo, starter, alty, and ignitor just to be safe. But almost every part for the rb20 I could easily find at any local parts store. Ex. clutch is a z32 na clutch, coils I could get for a j30 I believe.

*flame suit on*

I have an rb20 in my s14, I absolutely love it, Ive had a SR and a KA car in the past, the power delivery of the Rb20 fits my driving really well. I haven't had any problems with the RB as of yet =)
