thanks man, you've given me more motivation to prove you wrong :D in 4 months this car WILL be on the road with a running KA24E wired up by me.

because I was close minded about the engine, and only took in the bad parts of the engine and wasn't looking into the good parts of it.

Dude just stick to your Sohc KA and call it a day.. Btw what are your plans for the car?

Why are you even asking questions, when you have such a closed minded opinion about the motor?

I'm trying to give the god damn engine a chance. the more I look into the more I'm starting to actually like it.

The head flow on an SR is not bad. The head has a bad rep b/c of the rockers. Rockers do tend to break when people over-rev. Like mis-shifting bad or drag racing and bouncing off an 8+k limiter.

I have drifted and beat on SR's for years and never once broke a rocker - or any part for that matter. They're good all around engines.

the first time i pulled a motor it took about 3 hours..
and that was with no help
i dont even see how it is possible to take up three days doing it

I pulled my first engine out in 2-3 hours... 13bt.. few after that from rbs to cas all the way to fucking lt1's and 3.8s/c..

I pulled out an s12 motor in like 4 hours for a buddy that wanted to put a sbc in it..

You fail kid.

the tranny didn't wanna come out on the first day and there was a nut right be hide it wedged between the fire wall and engine that's what made me lose alot of time. second day i got the nut and off and tried pulling the engine out but it wouldn't dislocate from the tranny because of some converter or some shit (it's a auto fucking matic) I was also pulling the engine first and then the tranny. I tried pulling back and back and back and it still wouldn't dislocate from the tranny.

at the end on day 3 i said "F it if i break something I'll fix it later" and i just yanked the MOFO out and broke some shaft. whatever not like I'm going to be using it again.

EDIT: and it's not like i took the entire day on that only hours at a time.

but naaaa after this engine goes out I'm gonna save about 4k and import a FJ20DET from the aussies LMAO that shit would be tearin it up.
but really right now all i need is 150hp i don't want mad 280hp power not yet at least. i first need to learn to control the car and then if i feel confident I'll start doing things to it until i feel i need to move up to something more powerful.

EDIT: and BTW I've seen N/A sohc Ka's do 380hp all motor too
