Sport Max Wheels? Worth it?

yeah looks but it still handles like a stock 240..... and last time I checked this wasn't sflHARDPARKERS.com, Drifting inst about having a pretty car, If we rag on you about not having good suspension or not drifting in events and you answer well not everyone has the money for stuff like that. WE are gonna point to your wheels/bodykit/JDM badges/Paintjob/Uber cool exahust and say you had money for those.... It pretty much shows where your priorities Lie. Shows that all you really care about is looking good and impressing people and Im sorry if thats what you want out of drifting you're in it for the wrong reasons

And don't think Im just some fucktard hating on you cause i can't afford pretty wheels and such. I have been around the scene for 4 1/2 years been to 22 events, grassroots and professional. Sure you want to look like the pro's cars yeah they are very pretty but you know they started off with a stock crappy looking car built their suspension all up got their chasis all preped did most of their mods on that stock crappy looking car then they started to play around with the looks, in drifting you have to walk before you can run and have to crawl before you can walk. Plus there is no reason to throw away all that money on looks cause it will break your car will get put into a wall, your car will crash.... Don't think for a second that you are safe from it, it will happen.

Yeah but those springs rule and you actually bought shocks aswell, instead of just buying springs that have pretty advertising and suck performance. and expecting the stock 16-18 year old shocks to control them.

Plus I know you know your shit.

piner i def understand where your comin from....but im not building my car to impress anyone...i like the way that japanese s13 looks so i bought the car for my own enjoyment...trust m,e d00d theres been so many threads about priorities in this forum but you know what not everyone does everything the same way ...my car is a project car not my daily so in time it will be complete ....

but anyway u look at it this is a neverending battle of peoples opinions.. you like what yall like and i like what I like...point blank

If you got a nice suspension setup you wont care what the car looks like cause you will spends all your time just looking for good corners to drive around

Wow, I really wish i'd have gotten my hater-blockers out for this topic. Personally I really like the way the 962's look. I won't buy them only because I like another type of Sportmax, but I don't see anything wrong with them. As everyone says, you get what you pay for, so don't expect a super high quality wheel for $600 shipped or whatever they cost. But hey, if everyone could afford $2,000 rims, then Sportmax wouldn't even be in business.

Get something you like, and don't listen to the guys that say "Everybody has Sportmax... Waaaa."

Why do you want "hater blockers".... they are giving their clear opinion, and I do believe that's what you asked for.

you can like them all you want, just dont ask us if we like them and you wont have this so called hate on sportmax problem you seem to think you have.

me personally would rather go for lighter wheels, and if you are going for something cheap, you arent saving much when you go to buy tires with your cambered out car, and if you arent gonna drift with them in the rear, they will look stupid when you have a 17 up front and 15 steelie in the rear. id rather rock Rotas with 4x100 to 4x114 adapters and have a flush setup and way lighter wheel.

...sportmax are just too heavy...

^the only sportmax wheels that arnt really heavy are there forged wheels the 002, and 502 wheels, the best buy IMO are rota wheels, most of there wheels are lightweight jsut there offsets suck ass, but im waiting til they come out with the 17x8.5 slipstreams come out im going to buy those cant wait, FULLY POLISHED FTW. what alot of people dont care or i guess they jsut dotn like them are Z32 wheels 16x7.5+45 and 16x8.5+35 there pretty light also and can be found everywhere again problem is there 5 lug and HIGH offsets but you can get 16x8.5 +35 TT wheels all arouund on an S13 just need to get a 15mm Front spacer and a 20mm rear spacer for FLUSHY FLUSHY.

save your money and get something that wroth having. sportMax rims are ok if your not really serious about drifting, just more about how cool they look around people who don't no $H:T about cars!!!!!! once more....save more money or if you haven't yet, upgrade your suppension, raer upper controll arms, trackion, tenion, toe's, rear sway bar, ploy bushings.....
research! the best thing you did was to ask us on what we thought about sportMax rims and now you know..

The only Sport Max wheel I would get are the 002s, but I am not even too sure about those. 15x8 +0 offset doesn't even come flush on 86s. Maybe close, but not there yet.

If I were you, I'd get the essentials first. Suspension, LSD, and then wheels and tires. Personally, on an S13, the 002s with some 205/50/15 tires is hot. Of course, the car must be slammed.

save ur money and get coilover, if u have an s13 u should buy my coil overs
JIC FLT-A1

oh and sportmax wheels are int bad for the price, but id rather go 5 lug, (which im also selling) n then just go to rb motoring, they have a huge selection of wheels for sale at a decent price
