sliding tire pressures

I always ran 32 front and 40 rear on dry days and dropped the rear to 35 for wet weather. But I was in a corolla making 100 whp and ran 185/60/14 falken ziex 512. The pros are running really high psi (45+) to create more smoke.

I plan on running brand new federal 595SS 245/45/17's at cfrc this weekend.
Knowing that cfrc doesnt have much grip and Im running a slightly smaller width than usual, I'll probably start my pressure at 30psi cold to see how it feels, then go down from there. I figure around 28-30psi hot will be alright. Dont wanna go too low as they might fall apart.

i use to start with 60 psi cold(rear) on supra because the tire had so much damn sidewall 225/70/15. never had one pop like jerrys. now i run 32 front 40 rear on 195/50/15 then usually go down to 28ish front and like 35 rear once i get use to how the car feels that day.
