the fins on the head. Just because the valve cover is red doesn't make it a red top.

below the valve cover behind the CAS wires? the heat sink fins? those came on later red tops too. nissan added them to all the SRs in 93. red tops available through '94 model year... or something like that. just because it has fins doesn't mean its a black top with a red top on it for no apparent reason.

they do however i know it has a cutoff based on the year. my e30 doesnt go through emissions
