If I'm wrong, correct me, but don't most drift events provide a payout you can win for drifting?

EXTREMELY rare in Florida. I can count on my fingers the events that actually gave out cash in the past 3 years. There's always little to no benefits other than a small trophy and bragging rights.

And what do you mention about watermarks? Every photographer watermarks their pictures. The only one that really slack about it is my boy TJ Lathrop with Stasis Productions that watermarks the border outside the picture, which still leaves the picture for use. Everyone else leaves a mark on a corner (or right down the middle) of the picture.

Also, it's still uncommon to see competitions in Florida... most of the events are just practices so people have a place to do their stuff in a free and legal sanctioned environment.

I mean, I don't compete in events, but I'm pretty sure you can benefit from the events when you're a drifter. Given, yes, photographers benefit their portfolio with pictures from your event, but they won't put a watermark on there for you like they would at a DriftFury event because they didn't have to pay. Nor will they come to your events anymore.

Most drift events are practices. Theres hardly been events that give the winners prize money. On your argument about the photographers, thats up to them to decide. Me on the other hand, I've been going to and shooting at drift events since the beginning. Whether or not I have to pay, whether I not I get recognition for my work, I don't care. I'll still be going to events to shoot, relax, and hang out with my friends.

on the real,

the only people getting in free should be people who were asked to show up and demo/take pics. You have to pay to get your name out there. When you reach that pinnacle then you shouldnt have to pay for your services. $5 aint shit to take pics all day.

People participating should pay no matter what they say. Support the scene, get out there and slide your ass off.

I vote No... Photographers are hookin the drifters up with sick pics and great coverage... id gladly add 5 bux to my reg. costs

I don't think the drifters should have to pay, they're already shelling out a lot of money for tires, parts, etc.

As for photographers, I don't think paying what spectators pay, which is usually $5, is a big deal. You still get to take pictures and do your thing, plus have MUCH more access than spectators do.

Yeah. I'm over it.
I guess the events I've been to, they were normally competing for a license or money. I think the only one I went to where the wasn't something to win was the IRL event. Then again, I don't pay that much attention to everything going on, so I'm probably wrong.

As for watermarks, I guess I mis-stated. I meant to say "logo." I suppose. I know for a Drift Fury event, since Media credentials were granted, the photographer was happy to put DF's logo on his pictures and submitted them to Tracy.

Anyone who wants to go should beable to pay $5. End.

Or idk. W/e. I don't care. But why should the drifters pay more ontop of their entry for some people with cameras to come. What about people that dont care about getting their pics taken? (I like pics of me so I dont care, but still) Its kinda unfair that the drifters would pay extra so photo people can come.

Now with water marks. I do that because I have had about 10 images stolen and sold or used for advertising with out my knowledge.

Like this company which my lawyer has contacted but I still find it on Myspace.

The 4th image is mine. you can see the logo of the Drift Fury and my logo next to it.

When i post images yes i have my signature. If people want the image i gladly send them.

$5 is no big issue to me as long as I get a media pass to be able to stand where i need to get the good shots. I also dont mind paying in if it keeps the event going around.

Though most events for me are a fucking drive, so paying entrance would suck after driving 3 hours

i think they should pay...at least something...if anything why cant i drift for free at an event???
i think its the same if you don't want your pictures stolen put watermarks all over it....on top of the car...i think it is fair... you got to pay for anything you do as a hobbies...
