Shaking while I brake.

I'm getting a little wobble on the driver side front wheel every once in a while while I'm driving but whenever I hit the brakes the whole thing rattles and shakes like crazy specially if I'm decelerating in gear. I'm thinking CV Joint. Any other ideas?

240sx are RWD so no CV Joints. If it happens when braking chances are you have warped rotors. Do Pads n rotors up front.

Also check your tie rods & ball joints for play.

I'm sorry I meant ball joints. It's not a warped rotor for sure. J30 rotors and calipers up front and they where perfect when I installed them and no hard braking in water or anything like that.

If it is ball joints, someone told me something about sentra ball joints. Any truth to this?

I got mine from Srsteve. Cross drilled and slotted FTMW! They where perfect when I installed them and like I said, I haven't done any hard driving or braking that could account for warping.

hard driving isnt the sole cause of warped rotors it just happens, so it can still be that you now have warped rotors, dont throw that idea out the window.

Cross drilled and slotted just makes it easier to warp. Not ftmfw. Theres no point for you to have them. Anyway, its either that or some balljoints most likely.

those rotors are old as hell my friend!! its time for new ones!

the rotors have an easy 25k on them and they were beat to hell! they were on 3 diffrent cars before he got them!

if anyone remembers greenmachine on the forum they were orignally his!

you cant resurface these rotors

yes u can resurface drilled and slotted rotors, i just had mine done by estie and 240sxsickness can resuface them too

I cleaned them up and double checked they weren't all torn up. I mean they are old but by no means wrecked. I'll check all this shit up tomorrow.

Check tension rods and ball joints and tie rods with front on jack stands then get your jack and load the suspension by lifting from the control arm, try wiggling the tire first up and down then right to left, if you feel to much play or hear a noise then theres something wrong in your suspension or steering, now try doing this and looking for anything that is moving more than it should(someone to help you makes this a lot essayer). If not there it may be a out of balance wheel or bent, try changing the wheel to the other side of the car or to the rear. Or your rotor is warped. Make sure you torque your lug nuts evenly. Shit if you really can't figure it out, fuck it swap rotors from one side to the other if you can't measure them for runout.
