Socialism is just communism remodeled or close to it.

ugh same bs i hear regurgitated by old Cubans all day long.

when it comes down to it though character affiliations are just as important.

Exactly. He chose Palin as a running mate. Someone who is out of her effin mind, is a radical christian who is personally ''guided by god'', and is actually dumber than Bush (yes, I never thought that would be possible)...that says enough.
I was shocked to see how Venezuelans re elected someone as ignorant, arrogant, and so completely base as Chavez......and then I saw how millions cheered for Palin. Unbelievable.

During Reagans admin he set up an Economic plan that would take ten years to see the fruits of it. By the time Clinton came into to play as president he was riding on an economic plan that was generated by a republican president from 15-16 yrs earlier. It was known as Reganomics. If it were to be the same for every president and how policies really come into play after the presidency than the last 8yrs have been a product of Clintons admin. So when the next president comes into play we all would be dealing with Bushes 8yrs.

There are far too many variables to make such assumptions. I'm a Reagan fan too. But the IT/dotcom boom of the 90's had a lot to do with the economic success seen during the Clinton administration.

Also, bushes economic principles have definitely come into effect during his administration. The economic stimulus checks did work as did the tax breaks after 9/11. What people don't realize and the media covers up is that congress messed us up more than anything.

Speaking of which consider that congress is projected to become more liberal after this election. If Obama gets elected, the liberal dominance will become historic (literally). Couple that with his supreme court justice choices. I really hope voters are taking the full scope of that into consideration. We'll live but shit has the potential to get bananas.

^ Agreed. I forgot about the IT/dotcom boom. Thanks for pointing that out. Still though like I said before about the dems being a majority in Washington, they are a huge part of the problem.

What do you consider a radical Christian being? I am so curious as to what you mean by that statement. Whats wrong with the Lord God guiding your footsteps?? Still though you base your character affiliation on Palin and God when you have Obama talking about sitting down and having a cup of tea and crumpets with known Anti-American haters as Chavez, Ayers, Ahmindinejhad, Kahlidi? This is a comparison to Palin and her relationship with God???

Everyone has the right to cast a vote on who they believe will do a better job to best fulfill their own personal needs. I really despise people who are certain that a certain nominee will destroy the countries policies or devastate the country further... You need to remember that these government leaders are rich fucks who just want money. If someone placed a check in your hand for the amount of debt you owe to willingly vote for a certain runner surely you will vote for him. Unfortunately this is how many policies are fueled in the white house, house and congress. There are good and bad to every candidate. It's quite repulsive to hear what people have to say about either Mccain or Obama, especially Obama. This country doesn't need a christian president, it needs a great one. Even if Obama was or is a muslim it doesn't make a difference to your personal life so get over it. Most of these religious figures are fucked corrupted humans using religion to mask their deep issues or scarred pasts. I really hate religion to the depths of my soul, all it creates is oppression and war. I was raised in a very religious environment and have the deepest respect for it. Lets leave this stupid "Oh but he's an arab", " Niggas not Christian" talk out of this it's senseless.
-I'm personally voting Obama.

Talk about a contradiction of your thought process. This whole thread has been about the issues of the upcoming election, therefore it is a viable topic to be discussed if kept within the realms that it needs to be. You should go read up on Cones Revelation Theology. That is what he was taught for 20 years at the Reverend Wrights Church. I am disgusted with the fact that people that are gonna vote for someone when they really dont know the issues. This is the reason that we have this thread.

It's funny now that we are within a week from voting and Obama is changing his tone to about the issues so that they sound parallel to McCain in some cases. Stop watching ABC, CBS, NBC, and MSNBC and the Clinton News Network (CNN).

I am not trying to sway you, some people need to have a depth of thought that will outlast a 30 second commercial.

It's funny how you named almost every station except FoxNews. I agree somewhat with rb_reds13, religion has done nothing but slow down Human evolution. I also agree with tmwnn88 with his views on Sarah Palin. She's a nutcase, anyone who believes that Earth is 6,000 years old and that women don't have the right to do with their body's whatever they want, is a crazy nutcase. I liked McCain up until he chose to put that idiot as his running mate. What the hell was he thinking? I think the only reason he chose her, is because Obama didn't choose Hillary Clinton. His campaign team probably thought it would make them look better if they chose a conservative women, guess what it backfired.

With people like Palin in office, Women are going to have less rights as Human Beings, Homosexuals are going to have less rights, and we're basically going to have an ignorant Jesus freak for President.

Yeah talk is for lovers! To hell with Chavez, Ayers, Ahmindinejhad, Kahlidi! We have the bigger guns lets teach them a lesson! Chavez has all that sweet delicious oil, we should just go there and take it. Why talk and reason with those animals! We should make them love us!

I dont want anyone in office who puts there beliefs out there for all to see. I believe your religion should not play a part in any decision you make in office for many reasons one of them being not every American has the same religion as you.

OK if Christian beliefs makes Palin crazy, what about Obama? For 20 years he regularly attended a radical church group based on CHRISTIANITY. Add to the mix the racist and anti-american views expressed and you really have to be a complete and total hypocrite to bash Palin for being a Christian.

To me the issue of abortion rights is about the rights of an unborn baby. You may think i'm a crazy nutcase, that's fine. Thinking a woman has a right to grant doctors the power to murder an underdeveloped baby is crazy to me. Its not her body in question. And how would woman have less rights with Palin in office (unless you think abortion rights = woman's rights)?

As for homosexuals, I can only guess that you're talking about gay marriage rights. To me I don't care, let them get married. But if you look at national polls, the majority of Americans do not believe gays should have the right to get married.

Abortion rights don't equal Woman's rights. It's just one of the many rights Women have and should have. I'm not a Woman, nor can I get pregnant, but Women are people just like you and me, and a woman shouldn't have to give up her goals and dreams just because she made a mistake and slept with a guy unprotected or got raped, there are many scenarios. I know, your gonna tell me there are many adoption programs were she can leave the baby, but that is very traumatic for someone. Being pregnant is traumatic as it is, so is having an abortion, I just think if a Women would decide that she isn't ready for the pain, mental and physical, of being pregnant and giving birth and then having to put the child up for adoption, she should be able to have an abortion if she thinks it's the right thing to do.

I understand if your talking about late term abortions, I think those should be made illegal, and anyone caught administering one should be prosecuted along with the pregnant Women.

Like I said, I'm not a Woman. My opinion doesn't count on this, I will never experience the trauma of being pregnant or giving birth. I would like to view some opinions of this by some of the female members on here.

If they ever do overturn Roe v. Wade, the decision should be made entirely by Women and not by Men.

No i think people should be more responsible. Back to my theory on attacking problems at the root. But like i said, its not about woman's rights to me, its about the unborn baby's rights. So a baby has to die b/c a couple made a "mistake?" Pretty big fucking mistake and a bold "right" to me.

And as for rape...rape/incest account for 1% of all abortions.

:ugh:
You really need to take a deeper look into what Obama has voted for as far as abortion is concerned.

i was told but this could be false that obama believes in partial birth abortions, but since many doctors are strongly against this view i doubt obama said it.

mccain has similar views as I do and i believe that it should be left to the states to decide. it shouldnt be a whole nation decision.

i personally would never have an abortion unless under extreme extreme cases. (which i doubt i ever will have an abortion even in those cases --> pretty liberal catholic) but i believe that if it doesnt have a heart beat then its up to the woman to decide. and for an abortion it should be under cases for incest, rape and endangers mom's life, the works. in a perfect world, those involved in incest and rape should not be shunned for getting an abortion, but you have to file a police report so some 14 yr old girl doesnt go in and get an abortion just because she fucked up. and I believe parents should be notified of the abortion if the girl in question is under 18. people under 18 basically have no rights their parents do and i believe that should be upheld.

and i agree with you the decision should be made by women not by men.

this country needs to stop paying for people to have babies (welfare)
and i also agree with tonymac on a personal level. you should not kill just because you fucked up. you fuck up you deal with it.

if i got pregnant tomorrow (knocks on wood i dont) i will still go to school preggos and carry my baby to terms and i dont believe in adoption because i cant stand my own flesh and blood out there somewhere and i dont know where.

**News flash** About 80% of people voting don't understand the issues and are voting because of who there families are voting for. I feel your pain, the amount of ignorant voters is remarkable. It just comes down to some of the views you have on some topics: Gun control, abortion, education, war, stem cell research, energy etc. I believe guns should be controlled, women should have the right to choose, republicans have money therefore don't fund schooling as much for the fact their children attend private schools, war is complicated..., religion burns bridges in scientific research, energy is complicated as well. All in all it's pretty straight forward who I am voting for. You are right though, anything about a president is viable to use against him. I don't think I could even vote. I just had knee surgery and when I stand my knee swells and turns red... I think I'll die if I stand in line for 3 hours...:(

I don't preach to people about abortion or abortion rights. I don't judge people either. I had two good friends growing up who had abortions. They never heard 1 negative comment from me - rather I supported them in their undertaking so much as offering to be there for one.

I'm sure abortion will remain legal but I do have a big problem with the stance Obama has taken. Induced labor abortions sometimes produce a living baby. The Dr's in this case leave the baby to die. Obama voted against making this a criminal offense. He's also pro partial-birth abortions. Those two acts are just disgusting to me and really cross the line of when a baby is baby or a just a "fetus."

like thats fucked. if it breathes air its alive. if its like full term?? its alive.

if the girl as soon as she knows shes preggers the couple better make a decision fast.

thats like a prom night dumpster baby. thats a crime.

I agree with you, if it is true that Obama supports these acts, I'm against it. To tell you the truth, I'm a very open minded person. I am voting for Obama because I agree with him on certain points. I don't agree with McCain on many things, but I still like him. I agree with you on a lot of aspects Tony, and lately I've been feeling like both these guys are idiots. I'm starting to think it isn't worth the 2+ hour wait in line to vote for these dicks.

I'm starting to have thoughts on, dare I say it, staying home and not voting for no one, fuck em.
