Okay everyone... here is the deal. It isn't completely in ink yet but the deal is far enough along that I will et everyone in.

The event, at this point, is set to be held at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek in the old overflow parking lot on 40th street and banks rd. It's huge...

We'll be drifting the center section of the lot with vendor/car show in the west section and paddock in the east section. We anticipate a low 3rd gear entry with long sweepers to stay in 3rd throughout.

The event will be held sometime later september/early october.

We'll have a non-caged (solo) and caged (tandem) class with a top 16 and 1st through 3rd place driver payouts for the caged class.

UPDATE:

Here are the prices/prizes as of now. We are also contacting vendors to pitch in prizes IN ADDITION to what you see below.

Non-Caged Class (Solo Competition)
$75 per person. Includes driver and 2 crew members

Payouts:
1st Place $250
2nd Place $150
3rd Place $75

Caged Class (Tandem)
$150 per person. Includes driver and 2 crew members.

$50 of each Caged Class registration will go into the payout "pot" to be broken up into 1st through 3rd payouts with a MINIMUM payout as shown below.

Minimum Payouts: (Based on 16 car entries, anything over means higher payouts)

1st Place $400
2nd Place $300
3rd Place $150

Lets see some layout options!! I'm excited! :driving:

:hump: So much awesome about this.

I agree with layout ideas. Someone go play with Paint dammit.

that looks awesome but looks like you are gonna have containment issues like at the fairgrounds. and the only problem i see is also just like fairgrounds, how are you gonna keep people from getting a free show.

Whats been accomplished as far as terms? Prices to get in, etc etc etc.

Is this a one time event? or recurring?

dude, this is 10min away from me. ill drive the race car there. sweet. now i have some motivation to finish the car.

question. for tandem class. are bolt in cages allowed obviously with door bar of course?

i could help with the layout i just would have to survey the area of expect drift action. is this area available for public access?

so many questions, i'll do my best here... lol

We're finalizing prices now so i'll have to get back to you on it. Probably after this weekend when the committee meets.

So far it's a one time event with the possibility of becoming a 4 times/year event with different layouts.

I will be issuing a very specific set of safety rules for both classes well in advance. But yes, a quality bolt in will be allowed. But we will be looking to bolts to not protrude into the driver compartment over x amount (will define later) and FULL welds on the rest of the cage. We will be taking safety VERY serious and any vehicle not passing tech will be turned away.

We are going to try and have the city shut down banks/40th along the parking lot (for several reasons). We will also be putting up fencing and krails where necessary. The overhead map does not do the size of this thing justice, the drifting pad alone is about the size of a football field so there will be plenty of run-off in most areas.

Please keep the questions coming, feedback is welcome and we want to make this a great event for you!

Comp with payout... I'm guessing $75-$100 depending on how much the lot rental is.

The caged class may end up being a little more than you assume but we're trying to get the payout to justify it. It will be AT A MINIMUM $400 for 1st, $300 for 2nd, and $150 for 3rd. But I will be working very hard to get those numbers up from there (I really think I can with some potential sponsors). I would rather make this event more of a real "grassroots" competition than another drift session.

this is really fucking awesome and i hope you can pull through with it.

im done to help out on organization if need be.

I came up with these layouts if we use the entire space. The red layout is practically the same as the NOPI Drift layout:

Theres enough space to split the track in two and have two sessions running at the same time, so I came up with this:

Only one lay out

not happening sorry one lay out cause we would need to manybarriers which = a lot of $$$$

I like the top one the best. I dont think everyone realizes how big this is.

I'll be apart of media for the event. Count me in.
