i bought one and hooked it up...dont really understand how to use it tho...before i installed it my car would start, be hella rich and just sputter idling about 500 rpms..if i revved it it would clear itself out a little and run a little better still rich..i installed the safc and now it just cranks and wont start...i was trying to set it up and went through the book but it seems like it needs to be started to finish setting up. im trying to get my ka-t running.:ugh: just lookign for some ideas and advice on how to set up the safc. thanks.
 
take all the maps and put them at 0

that will put it as if it wasnt there at all

was your battery disconnected when you wired it up
 
no it wasnt disconnected...i have disconnected since ive installed it tho and ive set all the maps at 0...im wondering if my maf is set up right tho because on the monitor screen its at 100% all the time for air flow? its a hot wire sensor right? and since i have a n60 maf wiht my stock ecu 2in 5 out? i found that when i was researching.
 
yea..ive doubled checked and i checked a few different sources on how to wire it for a ka...im gonna check out my n60 tho and double check that i hooked that up right.
 
the sensor type is hot wire right? and should it be reading the 100% airflow when the cars not even started?

take it to someone that knows what there doing!!!!

-why would u buy something, try to install it, and have no idea what todo??? ur playing with something that can end in a result of a blown engine.

lyk a few ppl said here. if everything is wired correctly like it should. set everthing to 0. and 5in 5 out. and go from there.
 
yea im gonna check it out more...im just a visual learner and trying to read teh manual and fiugre it out is driving me nuts!lol but i think im understanding it now.
