sooo i we got the sr20det swap done into my s14, the baby cranked and turned on. was on for a while then driven, drove pretty good, idled fine. but nooow its progressively acting up. engine began rocking alot more, and when i step on it, it has mad rock. idles on a 1k but will fluctuate a bit nothing crazy and back fires almost every 10 seconds.. got white/light bluish tint smoke coming out of exhaust, not much at all on idle. smoke is heavy when driven, more when revved to around 4k. thought it was the turbo but its spooling and blow off valve is opening so turbo should be fine, also got this rattling noise that started right under the driver side. thought it was the downpipe, (o2sensor was welded on the wrong side.. bought it for a special price lol) so i thought it was the 02 sensor vibrating against the frame, but its not, sounds like something in my downpipe rattling o_O need some opinons and suggestions, want to take off the downpipe and see but this hurricane weather is fuckin up my plans !!! lol please help :jackiechan:

sometimes the elbow will rub on the steering rack. it happens with mine but then again i have a 3 inch elbow with a screamer pipe. is your elbow stock?

cant understand shit
if ur cars backfiring and engine shaking sounds like its misfiring. noise in d.p. may be it rattling back and forth. get someone who knows about cars because from what u post sounds like you dont know much

Bov isn't a stock item, and iirc after one is installed a retune is in order. Also, are you sure turbo is stock? Previous owner may have replaced journal bearing with bb and not installed oil reducer causing the excess oil to burn off.

As for the noise around the downpipe, like most said its probobly just coming into contact with something. If you can't see anything from a top view, turn the front wheels and look under the car in the area where you hear the noise. Also lok further down along the exhaust piping problem might be back there and echoing up front, maybe broken hanger or something.
