S13/S14 Silvia build

Hi all.

I have a couple of questions in case I get a S13/S14 soon.

First, if I find a good S13/S14 with the stock KA24E engine should I pass and look for an already SR20DET swapped car? I assume a swap is expensive and so is the engine itself.

How much should it cost to have shorter gears installed?
Around how much is a hydraulic armbrake cost to install (is it a hard DIY?)?
In case the car doesn't have a limited slip, what are the options for an LSD?

Thanks

Ok thanks. :bigthumbu

I found some information from searching. But, I'm looking for some ballpark prices... is a hydraulic arm brake $200 to install or $1000? Same for the short gears, how much around should it be? Are they custom made or there is a kit?

A recommendation for a shop around Miami that does this kind of work would be enough I'll just go there and find out.

there's a shop in maimi on... try Ave and searching Road, the shops called Google. got tons of info

1. get a daily and get a daily beater ka24de. or buy my sr20det s14 ;)
2. dont install "shorter gears" dont get hydralic e-brake...yet
3. weld your diff or vlsd

Thank you! please pm me information about your sr20det s14.
If I weld the diff its not going to be drivable on street, you tow your car to the track? an lsd is not enough?

You can't find none of dem rare silvias with KA24DE's in them anymore. And handbrakes are $1000 installed.

how old are you???

you need to go to a few events before you spend any money. actually meet some people and ask them questions about their cars and what it takes to get it like that. once you understand what it takes and the money involved if you still wanna do it have fun.

get a beater s13 for around 2000.
buy coilovers like stance or pbm
weld the diff, you can drive a welded on the streets plenty of people do it including myself
get a helmet
driftspares
then go to countyline dragway and learn on the skidpad

Lol you guys are so helpful.. At least this dude is attempting to do it right. Listen to barefootdrifter. Get a welded diff or 2-way, good coilovers, and a decent bucket seat. You don't need a hydro ebrake yet.. Nor do you need shorter gears.
